I guess in a sign to show they still care or are deadly afraid of anymore lawsuits, Mitsubishi contacted me in regards of my possible crankwalk issue. Of course they want me to take the car down to a certified mechanic to check for thrust bearing failure, which I will, but they told me if that is the case to call them back, they would like to look at the car, they didn't promise to fix it, but they didn't promise not to, strange, I never expected them to even notice my little e-mail. Points to Mitsu for showing some care.

LOL. Good luck with that one...

 to mitsubishi

i read somewhere, i think it was usa today, that mitsubishi's ceo was but in jail for being part of a conspiracy for making unreliable parts that would break premaaturally for the past several years in many of their lines of vehicles. I think that it what the article said, I could be wrong, but that i'm 90% sure thats what it said.

what is crank walk? I have a NT, can this effect my car?
Crankwalk is failure of the thrust bearing (a flange on one of the main bearings) which allows the crank to move axially. It can happen to almost any engine, but hardly ever on a 420a. In exchange for its lower power output, the 420a is a _very_ robust engine.

I had a friend with a '63 Falcon and a straight 6- you could grab the crank pulley and move it in-and-out a good ¼". He drove it that way for years.

DSMs won't put up with that.

what type of email did you send? let us know how it turns out this could be great news for some of us cause if they fix it once theres now precedence for the rest of us to use against them ..good luck man :thumb: keep us updated.
