i took my trans out tuesday and i went to split it from the bellhousing and it will only come apart maybe two inches then the shifter thing gets in the way. by shifter thing i mean were the shift linkage goes on then goes into tranny . its the part thats in trany. does any one know how to get it apart? its on a 95 gst

The bellhousing is the last thing that comes off. DSM trannies come apart from the other side first. Remove the end case, remove 5th gear and fork, then remove the center case. After that you can remove all the other internal stuff from the bellhousing.

Installation is the reverse of removal. :)

i chipped a tooth on one of my spider gears and i dont want to spend alot of money for someone to take it apart and put it back together. ok now when i take 5th gear and fork off are all the other things going to stay were they are supposed to be when i remove center? thanks for your replies
