tranny help..??????

yes i have a hole in my tranny have picture to prove it, anyone have a quick fix????can i weld a piece over it or just replace the housing i also have second gear clicking while driving (now the whole tranny does ### the hole) how hard is it to do a rebuild and is it costly need the car running and quick!!!!!!!

Well, Cracks and holes can be fixed. Shoot a email to jacks transmissions. www.jackstransmissions.com I believe. Show him your hole and he can make a call. OR you an try Team Rip Engineering (TRE). I your housing is cracked you can have that replaced.

A stock rebuild can be done for about 850ish from those shops. hats all new syncros and other things that wear out. You can have things added if you wanna get fancy. But you will have to remove it yourself and reinstal it.

Check Vfaq, google it, and look to see if you think you are up to remove it yourself. It's not hard takes time when it is your first time. Once you break them all the time its like doing an oil change.

i have to ask (my curiosity got the best of me) how did that happen?

i couldnt tell you i had a clicking noise in 2nd gear and the faster i went the quicker it got so i stayed out of second gear fearing it would get worse then i got it on a lift to replace exhaust gaskets and BAM ran into hole, i think i chipped a tooth and it shot through...? thats my best guess

At the very least your going to want to have it taken apart to see what the actual damage is. Consider this an opportunity to upgrade.

fixing the hole isnt gonna do you much good without figuring out what caused it.

i found a transmission in phoenix, Mitsubishi eclipse transmission turbo , i was wondering where should i look for a tranny rebuild kit, i have no clue where to start..

These places are reputable and do good work. I have had a TRE-built trans in my Talon for over 2 years now with 0 issues and may soon be getting a Shep trans for the Laser.

and when replacing my tranny should i replace my clutch pressure plate and flywheel as well?

If the transmission is out its always easier to put a clutch in now instead of having to remove it later. That is unless you like taking transmissions out

I would. I've done it the other way; it's just extra work later.

alright thank you, i had another question, my head is a 7 bolt and i want to convert to a 6 bolt head, what internals should i get for the head?
