tranny help output speed sensor

Hi this is my first time here but anyway I have a 99 eclipse GS and just yesterday on my way home my speedo stopped working and it seems like it is stuck in 1st gear (its an a/t)

my girlfriend had this same thing happen to her in her 2000 chrysler cirrus and when she took it to the shop they said it was the output speed sensor and when they replaced it, it fixed the problem.

i know that my 420a is a chrysler so i was wondering if this could be the problem with my eclipse.

If the speedo stopped working it most likey has something to do with the speed sensor. It could be the gauge cluster tho to.

ya i am thinking that its the output speed sensor but i am not sure. Also i have not idea where they are located on the tranny i have read post telling where they are but it would be help full if someone had a diagram or a picture of where its located. i am thinking of replacing them my self.

Right now your car is probably in limp mode which is why it seems like it is stuck in first gear. The TCM (transmission control module) records a trouble code which sends your car into limp mode, it locks the transmission in second gear so no harm is done. Since your speedo stopped working the speed sensors is most likely what threw the code. The Input speed sensor is located underneath the oil cooler lines and just above the transmission solenoid pack. The output speed sensor is located closer to the left front wheel area of the transmission. I couldnt find a picture or diagram for you.

ok so than most likely its the sensor do you know where i can buy them from?

I would just try a parts store near you i think there actually pretty cheap to
