Yeah, well it happened just after I finally got it running. My car is a 90 TSi AWD. So heres the story, the first couple times I drove down the road, the car would shake just a little bit. But if I would take it to even moderate acceleration it would shake like hell and I would seriously get scared that the damn thing was gonna shake off the road. So I didn't drive it at more than half throttle on the way home, but before I could get home, I started to drive away from a stop sign and heard/felt the most horrible clunking sound ever. Pulled over to the side of the road, got out, and all my tranny fluid was in a puddle under the car. I looked in at the drive axle and it was completely out of it's "sleeve" type thing. After pulling that wheel off I noticed a tennisball size hole exactly level with the axle in the wall of the tranny, the axle slapped the tranny so hard it broke a hole in it. I'm pretty sure it can be welded, but what I'm wondering is if I have to take the entire tranny out or if I can just disconnect the tranny where the part with the hole mounts to the bell housing? Any help at all will be appreciated, thanks in advance.
I'm just really desperate at this point, sucks that my first time ever driving a DSM only lasted like 10 minutes and now I need MORE!
sorry for length.
