Tranny Gear Material-Hardness

Does Anyone know the material Of the Gears in a dsm? Aswell as the hardness? case or full hardened. the reason i am asking is that i want to weld my center diff and i need exact information for the welder.
Or
Does anyone have the direct procedure for preheating - welding -post heating the center diff??

Any help with this area would be great!

I can find the hardness if you really want. I am fairly sure the gears would be case hardened.

When I welded a center diff I took the bearings off, heated it to 600 degrees , welded it, then put it back in the oven, turned it off, and let it cool, No problems after 10000 hard miles on my friends car.
