Ok so a mechanic that worked on my car drive it to high holy hell. The worst part, he never put tranny fluid in it. The thing was clean dry. Now the tranny chatters from the inside of the tranny. It chatters when:

Car is in gear
Car is driven
Car is Neutral and Clutch is engaged.

If the clutch is disengaged then the tranny won't chatter, even in gear.

I filled it with BG Syncro with a little 85w-90w, no help.

What is it and what can I do to fix it?

Any help would be appreciated as I might be going to court. A tranny rebuild will cost me about $3000.
 
i dunno man. It sounds like it may be somthing with the tranny. If you already tried using bg or redline and those kinds of oil there really isn't much else other then tearing it apart to check all the gears and what not. It just sounds to me like its messed up from driving with no fluid. I drove my car with no fluid in the rear end once and it lasted about 4 miles till it locked up.
 
sorry to be the one to break it ot you. When mine started to lock up i got off the freeway parked and it totaly locked up. I looked under the rear of the car to see one axel missing. and smoke coming from the hole. Just get the guy who did the work to fix it. There is no way he can say that didn't cause the problem.
 
If a mech beat the hell out of that tranny, WHILE it had no fluid in it, you're more than likely ####ed. I would look for a good lawyer. :(
 
I am getting a lawyer. I talked to the MAN(john sheperd) and he told me that if the tranny was driven without fluid to the point that it makes a noise from inside it, the the tranny would be unrebuildable. I am in Germany, no one could rebuild it anyway. Mitsubishi said they can not fix it nor will the be able to order the tranny for me. Since they are supplied differently. So the ONLY place to get this tranny is through the parts store on base, which will cost me somewhere in the $4000 range.
 
I have some mechanicaly inclined friends that drove a tsi down to florida and back from pennsylvania with no fluid in it and a blown out intermediate shaft bearing. Over 1200 miles, believe it or not. Sorry about your tranny man.
