So car is idling a little high around 3000 rpm. i have already replaced my IAC motor and it hasnt fixed the problem. I am thinking it is my TPS but i am not really sure if i am checking it correctly. According to the haynes manual for a 2g n/t i am sopose to check the resistance between pin 1 and 3 and its sopose to change as i move the throttle. but all i get is 5.09k ohms..should i replace the TPS or is the manual wrong?? PLEASE HELP

Between 1 & 3 you should get between 3.5k - 6.5k ohms steady. Between 2 & 3 (or 2 & 1 gets inverse reading) you should have the value change smoothly in proportion to the opening angle of the thottle valve between 0 and the 1 & 3 value (no higher).

so i replaced the TPS but it still idles at 3000. i have no idea what else could be wrong. i disconnected the MAP sensor and it idle like at 1500 but it didnt drive all that great. could it be a faulty MAP sensor that is making it idle that high??
