So I've seem to have this problem since I got the car about two years ago. I can clear both codes out but after a day or two, they are right back on.

Also something that may or may not be related. Took the spark plugs out when I first got the car and noticed that arm of it.........was gone. Looked like something had hit the end of it. Had to use helicoil to re-thread that cylinder as I wanted to try that first before taking the head off. That cylinder has about 10psi less in compression.

The car is in storage until spring is here, and my father and I will be replacing the timing belt, water pump, belt tensioner, and I think one of the pulleys. There has been mention of also replacing the balancer belt?

Can anyone comment/help on any of these situations? The car has just about 130K and all my mods in profile are current. Going to a E316g with stock sidemount and low boost soon after spring is here.

Missing pieces from a plug in the combustion chamber does not sound good....
Its better safe to pull the head off just to be sure since you will be about half way there With timming belt install and the front all taken apart, You may need a new headgasket but its cheap considering the worst case new motor and a new head....AND you have re Tapped the hole for the plug some of that thread could have made it into the chamber....

Better safe than sorry in this case......:thumb:

So I've searched and found I'm just going to replace the balancer belt with the timing belt. To much hassle to get the BS eliminator kit and all that stuff. It won't hurt the performance and I won't be potentially causing more problems. I am also going to replace the crank shaft seal. I heard while I'm doing the timing belt, its right there and it might as well be done.

But what am I to do about the TPS/FPS???? I hooked up the Snap-On scan tool and it said it was working just fine??? And the FPS just keeps throwing codes everytime I turn it off. Becoming increasingly harder to get it inspected after resetting the ECU and running enough cycles without throwing the code first.

HELP please!
