Will a torque converter from a 1998 fwd tranny fit a 1995 tranny? I am converting my 1998 automatic GS-T to awd and found a nice 1995 automatic gsx shell but I want to use the high-stall converter from my fwd tranny.

Great, Thanks! But how about the flexplates, are they the same? I would like to use my flexplate since it has a lot less miles on it. Thank You

based on mitsu caps and findings how things where upgraded threw the years.

The flex plate MD754227 (1-1-94 to 8-3-96) was superseeded by MD762473 ( 9-1-96+) based on that, i can use ether or but dont know whats diffrent.

Now on the TCU side, they did change them threw out the years, as to what was changed, dont know. But I was told to get the TCU with the trans just incase of any problems.

MD756601 TCU ( 1-1-94 to 6-3-95)
MD759737 TCU (7-1-95 to 6-3-96)
MR483686 supperseeded MD762043 from 7-1-96 till end of production of the GSX

I called John at IPT and he told me I could use both the torque converter and flex plate from 98 fwd tranny on a 95 awd tranny.
