never checked, but I believe the 1g is limited by gear/rev limiter of 145-150ish???

One of my mechanical engineering friends calculated the top speed of a 1g awd to be 155 based on gear ratios and if power wasn't an issue. Also, not counting in deflection of the tires at those speeds.

I broke 145 (top of the speedo) on I-10 one night coming home from the track. It was still going when it hit 145, still had pull and the speedo had a constant pull towards 145 (of course it slows down, but it wasnt taking 5 minutes to go 5 mph more.) So, I'd estimate 150-155.

mine is stock except 2g mani and i have major boost leaks only hitting about 6 psi and i hit 145 and was pulling rather well. I was racing a SC300 and killed him top end so i am assuming it will go faster than 145

A lot of people have claimed crazy top speeds but it is a fact that at speeds that high, the speedo gets more and more innacurate; so that the 150 mph people have claimed could be only 130-140 something...not a big difference just innacurate

i was using gps to calculate my speed which is pretty accurate, at any given time, the speedo reads about 5mph over your actual speed and after 120 or so, it was off about 8, not too bad i guess. i wouldn't say 150 on the speedo means 130 though.

If you have aftermarket wheels and tires the speedo is less accurate too. Something to consider.

What is the top speed of my car?

Top speeds will obviously vary with the modifications to the vehicle. However, the top speeds for stock vehicles are in the following neighborhood:
- 1G AWD: around 140 MPH / 225 km/h
- 1G FWD: 140 MPH / 225 km/h
- 2G AWD: somewhere around 130-140 MPH.
- 2G FWD: some cars are speed limited to 130 MPH - see below for details

but are those 'top speeds' due to stock power levels or gearing? I'm curious to find out the top speed of an eclipse/talon/laser via the gear ratios. But i'm not sure how to figure top speed using only the ratios. One site reported 178mph with thier vehicle but I can't tell if theres any modifications to lengthen the gear ratios over stock.

I don't think youd ever be able to hit that number though, tire deflection probably kills at least 6-10 mph, and stock power would limit the car to probably around 140ish, as stated.
