right now i'm trying to find a manifold frust but i'm thinking about running a 20g

the 20g doesn't mount to a top mount turbo manifold. It can use the mitsu style manifolds. A top mount is usually used for a v-band turbo housing, t4 and I think maybe a t3 turbo.

As for the 30g you don't need a atop mount. Plus I think the if you used a top mount the alternator needs to be moved behind the engine and a custom exhaust.

No one makes a top mount for a Mitsu flange... it's not worth it.

If you're putting on a 20g, why bother getting a new manifold? Use yours or get an FP manifold if yours is cracked too bad.

I should have said this before since I have a FP manifold, but yea I agree. Its an amazing manifodl for the price, if you wanna spend big bucks you can always go to Punishment racing and JMF and find a nice tubular manifold.

Cut off the flang tig weld a tdo5 or tdo6 flangs on...boom 20g top mount. Cost wise it isn't efficient. Nor will you see a power gain from a fp cast manifold. On the other hand it will be different.

You CAN see an improvement over the FP manifold with another manifold, like a top mount. The fp manifold is great. But a top mount offers the ability to have a MUCH straighter shot into the turbine housing, which has been proven to be a bit more important than minimizing turns (not that turns arn't detrimental to flow).

But yes you have to either buy one and hack it. or build your own . If you can hack one, you can build your own for 1/8th of the cost.

depending on the turbine housing that you have on your 20g yo ucould also get a manifold with a v-band and have the turbine housing machined to a v-band. the mitsu inlet is round and would mostlikely work well. then if you wanted a bigger turbo later you could just get a tial v-band turbo.

OK i plan on going with a gt35r, or a hx-40 turbo and all i will have to do it cut the t4 flange off the manifold and weld on a t3 flange, but i was wanting to know is there a way to help brace the manifold because of the wight???
