top mount manifold

im currently doing a 4g63 in a camaro and i looking for a top mount manifold that still uses a mitsu style flange... if there are any out there. im using the fp 3065 turbo. i dont want to upgrade a turbo that i just bought and is still in the box. all i can find is t3/t4 flange. any help would be great

You would have to custom make one with a mitsu flange on it.

^he is right, look into researching on how others have done this and also how you can custom build it properly

...Do you have a manifold for your setup at all yet? If so, you could use a Mitsu flange adapter plate.

its a 76 camaro with a one piece fiberglass clip for a 70-73 camaro.. the rear end is a narrowed 12 bolt 4.56 gears with centerline 15x14 rims 12point cage is halfway in. just have to mock up the motor mounts and then it will be ready to roll. it would be much cheaper to make a header...what tube and wall thickness has netted the best results?

Did you already contact them and ask if they could do a custom flange for you? I'm looking to do a top mount with my HX35 using the DSM style turbine housing (even though BEP offers a T3 housing).

i have not contacted them yet. i also dont want to pay more than i payed for the turbo either to have one custom made . so ill just stick with buying a manifold flange, turbo flange and some tubing

I've followed that recipe for 3 turbo setups and 2 have held up to daily driver use for a year or two now. The third is in a 300zx and the guy can't stop f*ing with his car to drive it more than once every 2 months. I'm told by two people it is the fastest car they've ever been in, so I'm excited to get a ride.

Somehow I got it in my head to use 1 1/2 sch40, 1 1/4 fits better and should provide better spool up without any down sides unless you have a monster turbo.

I do make different collectors than what he does. There are 3 or 4 different ways to make a collector, I like these

chop saw one side, then flip the pipe 90 degrees, repeat 4 times, then use a belt sander to get them to align just right.

Shop around for flanges, don't pay more than $30-40 for the head flange and $25 for the turbo flange in 1/2". You WILL warp the flanges, and you'll just have to sand them flat. Unless you can find a local steam fitter you're not going to be able to beat these guys for bends

you're on your own for straight pipe, I've got a local place, but they won't ship.

If you love busted bandsaw blades consider stainless, otherwise, coat the mild steel and don't worry about it.

It's a lot of frustrating, hard working, beer drinking fun to make them. Sounds like it will fit the rest of the project to a T.
