Ok so I'll start from the biginning, I finally bought a turbocharged dsm on saturday, a 1992 Talon TSI AWD, and when i got it had a pretty stupid steering wheel on it so I was going to swap it for the one that was in my Eclipse....well, bad news...i got the old steering wheel out of the talon and the key wouldnt turn after that, so i put it back on and it still wouldnt turn and the steering wheel is locked now too so it will only turn a little ways in both directions. Ive tried turning the wheel just a little bit to get it to unlock but it wont work. Also when i took the wheel off i didnt have the wheels turned straight so i dont know if that would be the problem? So what I need to know is do I have to take the ignition switch out to get my steering wheel to turn so i can turn my key? And if i do how do i get it out? I need help bad because my drivers side window is down and I cant get it back up without turning the key...

Try this: put the key in, attempt to turn the key as you pull the steering wheel to the side. If pulling the wheel to the left doesn't work, try the right.
