Took her out for a tune.

Finally got link to hook up. Thats the only good part about the whole night.


So me and ark get everything set. We get a set pulse etc. Take the car out for her first pull.

Make pull 1- Car is ####ed . Knock doesnt move off of 3.2. So that means i need a new knock sensor. My fuel flow is very unsteady and the rpms would go up, jump down, then go back up again, car sputters whenever you go wot.

Adjust a few things to see if we can get the knock to move.

Pull 2- Knock stays the same, yes new one on the way. Same sputtering and fuel curve . Car now feels like a stock civic would whip up on it.

So after all that we have come to the conclusion that i need....

New knock sensor
AFPR
Fuel line kit
o2 bung installed w a block off o2. Only using for wideband


Need all that before we try and tune her again.

So 3.2 knock the whole damn time. Around 12 deg timing. But a little money here and there and we SHOULD be good to go. But im not expecting that to happen.


So should i get a stock replacement knock sensor? or are there aftermarket ones? Where and who should i get it from.

Am guessing you got the 1g dsmlink? Just because you were knocking does not mean you need a new knock sensor. You just need to fine tune a bit more. As for the wideband you can install it either in the front 02 location and have the wideband simulate both the front 02 and act as a wideband or you can set it in the rear 02 location which is where i have mine and is working just fine. If you want post up a log so i can look at it and tell you my opinion. Yeah make sure to get that afpr installed pronto and make sure you have a good fuel pump. As far as knock sensors go there aren't any "aftermarket" ones so if you still want to buy one it will have to be OEM

It stayed at 3.2 counts of knock NO MATTER what we did. I think its messed up. Ill get a new one just in case. I just find it very odd that it jumps to 3.2 and stays. Yea afpr is coming sometime in the next 2 weeks, until then no racing for me. Yes its 1g dsmlink. took me a week to get it even connect.

Did you try pulling 2-3 degrees of timing where it knocked?

yes.. It was at 9. We took out 2 deg. Same thing. Then we added 4. same thing.

Maybe you have some mechanical sounds going on that the knock sensor is reporting.
If you can, you should try a known good knock sensor before you replace yours.
