Ok So the other day my throwout bearing blew apart and this is what i pulled my transmission to find a piece of the input shaft broken right off clean break?:beatentodeath:
Has this happened to anyone else on here? :dsm::talon::laser:
BTW 1990 Plymouth Laser Rs Turbo FWD

HP doesn't break transmissions - torque does. And it's takes quite a bit of torque to sheer an input shaft.

In many cases, a broken input shaft is the result of a mis-aligned transmission. Are you still using the dowels to align the tranny with the block?

Your input shaft is OK, you broke your TOB boss/race and you just explained why this happened: your TOB "blew apart".

I have not heard of this happening before, but it seems pretty straight forward...

yeah im apoligize MODERATORS and yeah the cars back and running but i just thought it was wierd
