to srtoke or not to stroke

Ok so Im finally going to get off my ass and put my 6 bolt together. One problem though. I cant decide if I want to stroke it or not. 300 extra ccs, faster spool, more torque, and a broader power band sounds nice, but really high piston speeds is kind of a kick in the nuts. So long story short should I stroke this thing or not.

Piston speeds will be no different than in a standard 2.4 engine. That shouldn't be an issue.

your wallet will show you the way...you dont need to stroke it but if you have extra $$$ then do it...if you balance the motor you will be fine and the motor will hold to the bigger mods.

The only thing that is really going to cost more is finding a 2.4 block and crank. Everything else is going to cost pretty much the same.

175 for the crank, and I already have to buy new J.E. pistons anyway so it really wouldnt cost me that much more. Im just tired of stupid people bragging about srt4 torque.

do you know if the magnus will still work well with the stroker

Magnus what ? If you are saying their intake, yes it will still work. It bolts up to your cylinder head, thats not different in the 2.3's and 2.4's.

I didnt mean would it bolt up. I meant do you think it will flow as good since it was made tuned for a 2.0

Theres tons of people running it on 2.3 and 2.4 motors. Yes its a great intake manifold. It will work well.

I wouldnt go with those pistons, do some research Weisco and ross seem to be a popular choice. Yes, SRT-4's are torque filled bastards but our 2.0 liter engines have been proven way past any 2.4 NEON. But im not saying stroking it is a bad idea, im stroking my Evo next year
