Damn, you guys arent helping him at all. It is not revving over 3250 because of valet mode. The stutterbox is ONLY with the clutch depressed, so therefore if he was free revving while clutched in, then it would only go to 3250. But his problem is that it wont rev over 3250 during regular driving.

The stutterbox is ONLY with the clutch depressed, but ONLY IF it is wired correctly genius. That was my point. He didn't have the stutterbox wire in, so the ECU had no way of looking at the clutch. Instead, it was looking at the signal on pin 91 of the ECU(where TMO would have wired in the clutch wire), and treating that as the clutch signal. The 2G TMO chips were never officially released with a valet mode, according to their site. When I bought mine the company didn't seem like they were doing any more work on the ECUs, and they didn't have the valet option at that time. So which is more likely: a lack of wiring the clutch switch input properly, or that he got one of the few Beta chips with the valet mode, and the owner of it didn't tell him the security code?

JoeZ, if your car is running crappy, it really shouldn't be due to the TMO, unless you bought a copy, and the chip is defective. The TMO uses all the stock maps. The only other thing that could make it run bad is resetting the ECU. If your LTFTs were way out of whack to correct for some problem you have, resetting the ECU when you swap out the chip will make it run bad until the LTFTs get back to what they were. Not that it really matters now, but it is something to take into consideration when you replace the eeprom with the dsmlink chip.

So are you going to use the ECU that you currently have now with the DSMlink?? Or are you going to de-solder the chip out and add dsmlink?

I'm keeping the ecu...it's socketed so there is no soldering involved.

you should email me though.
