hey
I have a 2G AWD and my tires are getting very worn.
I can pick up a set of 235/45/17s for almost nothing, but something tells me there not going to fit.
will these fit on my stock 17's with no rubbing ? or am I out of luck ?

They might just fit depending on the brand of tire but 235's are too wide for a 7 inch wheel.

yes does anybody know for sure about this. cause I have 17 gsx rims, and have brand new tires that are 235 sitting that I got for free, and I'm running right now on 215 don't really care if it makes the ride worse just need to get around for right now. thanks.

Stock 17s are only 6.5" wide, so I would forget about 235s.

Tires and wheels are a package. They must work together. If you want 235s, then you need at least 7.5"-wide wheels, preferably 8".

It really depends on the tire. Not all "235" tires are really the same width.

I have run up to a 245 on a stock 6.5" wheel (although it took a spacer to keep the tire from rubbing) Not recommended for street use, but possible. :)

If you have the budget for wheels, I'd try mounting the tire on a stock wheel and see how it looks. If the sidewalls are too pinched inward, then buy the wider wheels. If not, then lucky you. ;)

Even if they are a little pinched, for short-term use, you'll be fine.

I had toyo proxes 235/45/17's on my awd talon with no rubbing or problems at all
