Tinting the windsheild

I want to tint my driver, passanger windows along with my windsheild a really light tint..

My question is what's the lightest tint I can get? I've only see it go up to 50%, I'm looking for something in the 60-75% so it's not so noticable to "da po-po"

There are lighter tints, most tint shops should be able.to.tell you what all tint shades are available.

My bro just got 20 on his windows and nothing on the windshield but the windshield looks tinted when your looking at it from the outside from the other windows being tinted. I wouldn't mess with the windshield but thats just my opinion especially if you drive at night. At night time its hard to see out of my brothers side windows so I wouldn't want any tint on my windshield.

i have 40% on my windshields. it lookes vary nice on a all black car. you can get any shade that you want. i think 20% is legal. in maryland anyway

Check your local laws before you go doing something that will get you a ton of extra attention. What's the legal limit on tint for your windows and windshield? In the state of Iowa absolutely no tint is legal on the windshield and front windows.

in California you CANT tint driver or passenger window but you can tint the back window. i already got pulled over for tinted windows and mine were very light you could barely even tell

Tinting the windshield is considerd a safety hazard as they say it obstructs your sight.

Most of my friends have 5% all the way around where I live but we're right next to Detroit so you don't normally get pulled over for something stupid like tint. Unless a cop pulls you over for speeding or running a red light you normally don't get in trouble for tint.

just do 75 percent and be done with it. 80 percent of people wont even be able to tell. 50 might be too dark. ive seen 350's with 75% i think and i couldnt even tell until he told me.

My job tints windshields all the time, 35%. (only when the customers know 100% its against the law and they are on their own when they get pulled...)

My boss has his Tahoe and Avalanche done, both black, with 18% fronts, 5% rears, and 35% windshield...and has never once gotten trouble for it, or had an officer remark about it when getting pulled for speeding.

Surprisingly driving at night in them seem to not be any issue at all. Ive also been considering tinting my DSM's windshield.

Here you go: 3M Crystalline Tint Film

It's called Crystalline from 3M. It's clear but blocks a claimed 99% of UV rays. I don't have it I just remember a spocom magazine used it a while ago and did a write up. Hope it helps.

Yup, we do dumb things all the time to keep people safe

Lets say i go and pull over a car, tint all around, that makes it a lot more dangerous for me as i can no longer see whats going on inside the vehicle, especially at night. Yes, i understand not everyone is a bad guy but if you want to come home at the end of the night sometimes you have to be a dick and play it like everyone is out to get you. Its that one time you dont that someone will make sure you dont go home.

Bottom line, its a safety issue, for you, me and other drivers. You better believe im gonna be a dick about it


Oh, and by the way, locally, a couple nights ago a young woman lost control of her car and wrecked. She got out and tryed to flag down another motorist, she was killed instantly when the car hit her. She will never get to go home to her 4 year old again. Think of if the driver had been able to see just that extra little bit. Would you want to be the guy to tell the kid?

no tint on your windshield is legal

this varies from state to state.
california=no tint in front at all
arizona=tink all round ok

Dude it's fresno. On pms days they'll pull you over for anything. But more then half the month they pretty cool though.
Tint in front windows are illegal. From what I was told from fresno pd is that if they can't see inside the car side and back, it's' assume illegal. For their sake so they can see what's inside the car( like someone grabbing a gun) get my hint.
I know it get's hot in the 559, but clear windows make the car look cleaner in my opinion. Unless your going for that all black stealth look.

Would you give a ticket even if it's some like 75-85% tint on the side windows? It just can't see the safety issue with something that light? Or is there a UV film that I can use instead of the tint that's both within law and safe?

If you're legal that's fine, your state decided that percentage was a safe compromise between safety and heat reduction. Bottom line though, tint on the front of a vehicle in most, if not all states, earns you an instant ticket.

Now, the thing about it, you can usually remove the tint, go to the PD or where they want you to pay the ticket and get the ticket waived under compliance. Your choice, just seems like a lot of money to waste when you could've gone with a legal solution in the first place.
