I was thinking about getting my windows tinted since I have no AC and it is so uncomfortable driving my car in the summer! If people with tinted windows could tell me if it keeps the car exceptionally cooler without AC I would really appreciate it. Yeah, I would love to do it for looks, but I would rather spend the money on performance first if it doesn't help cool the car much.

I've personally had several cars tinted and never noticed a difference. Lots of people do though, so it certainly is worth a shot.

Yeah, it helped mine a little bit. If nothing else it made it seem like it because the sun wasn't beating down on you. But then again I have 5% all the way around...

Yeah 5% all the way would probably defineatly help. My only worry with that dark of a tint all the way around isn't really cops, but more of visability at night. I was thinking maybe 5% on hatch and 2 side rear windows and 35% on the driver and passanger doors.

With 5 percent you can see next to nothing at night and I would even say I have seen people open their door and stick their head out when backing up with 5 percent ROFL I have a friend who went with 35 percent all the way on his black evo and it looks perfect. I'm not a big fan of 2 tone tint jobs but to each his own. Plus you have too keep in mind the color of your interior will effect the end result quite a bit too. Yes tinting it will help keep it a bit cooler.

Yeah good point, 5% on even the back would make reversing impossible at night. As long as others can vouch for me that 35% all around helps cooling a good bit I will probably go for that.

Here in FL you NEED window tint, especially if you have a sunroof. I haven't gotten around to getting my car tinted and the temps on the interior after sitting for a few hours is crazy. When I had my 420A and it was tinted the difference was night and day.

I would recommend going with 20% on the back glass and quarter glass and 30% on the PS and DS windows.

I luckily don't have to deal with Florida temperatures year round but driving around in the summer really is unbearable to me without AC. Thanks for all the replies guys, I will defineatly look into getting it done for this summer. :thumb:

It's really not that bad, You get used to it very quickly. You just need to be more aware of your surroundings and be much more careful. I run 5% on the hatch and rear windows and 15% on the fronts.
