tinted tail lights and turn signals

I am a fellow Michigander and my brother tints tail lights for side work, he's a custom car painter. He tinted his tail lights and one night I was driving them around bar hopping and we get pulled over. Cop said tail lights were too dark, there needed to be a circle of visible tail light or something like that. So tint it as dark as you want but leave a section of tail light lighter and you should be fine. My buddy also has his talon taillighta tinted and I don't think he was ever messed with. Just all depends on how dark you go I guess. Make a drive to lapeer we can tint your tail lights for cheap and they will turn out like glass!
