It takes 6 revolutions to get the marks to line up again. As far as the squeeling goes, did you replace the idler pully or the 2 tensioner pullys?

no i use the old pullys but i checked them before install and they did not make any noise at all.is not possible if i over tighten the pullys? cause there were smoke also

The bolt rides on the inner race of the pully bearing, so I would not think overtightening would be a problem other than maybe stripping a bolt hole. But someone else needs to chime in on that one.

From the previous discription and now with the knowledge that something is "smoking" I would think that a pully froze up on you.

Where is the smoke coming from, timing belt area?

Something is hanging up or touching after your install. If the belt is getting unusually hot then I would not run it until you find the cause. If the timing belt goes, your screwed in most cases and have to deal with reworking a head to replace valves at the least.

I had a similar sound when I did my belts last summer, I took everything apart and found that my balance shaft belt was toothless and was slowly being grinded down. I replaced my pulleys and it was fine after that. Does your noise continue or does it stop after the car warms up?

the noise start as soon as the engine turn over and the smoke is comming from the front rising from somewhere between the block and the alt.

Pull the covers and observe with the cover off. Smoking comes shortly before the disaster. Don't run until you verify the problem. Be sure it's not an exhaust leak as they are prone to leak in that area. That would be a shame, but better safe than sorry.

Good Luck

for sure im going to pull the cover off and check what is the cause.i just want to make sure that since the car can start and what not...is not possible that my valves are bend ?

My cousin's tbelt was too tight once, after changing it. It made a whirling sound kind of like a helicopter blade's sound. There was no smoke however. We had to do the belt over agan. We threw that first new belt in the garbage, as this could shorten the lifespan of the belt, causing it to break or stretch.

The belt can be overtightened if you did not adjust the tensioner pulley correctly.

If you do find out it is overtightened, you need to get another brand new belt. Don't try to reuse the belt that was overtightened.

Overtightened timing belt can also damage the oil pump, and the plleys on your ac, alternator, waterpump, and any other pullies.:|

If the valves had been bent you would know, it would ru poorly (more likely then not).

A very common problem with those symptoms is P/S or alt. belt riding on the T-belt cover. Smoke you see is most likely plastic from the t-belt cover burning up.
Your T-belt could also ride the cover in some cases. Either way, take the cover off, inspect everything carefull, and try running it without the cover.

i pulled the cover off and ran the engine...GUESS WHAT my t-belt tensioner wasn't spining.is was spinning when i had it in my hand.well im glad i got that fix.thanks for all the help guys. one more question which seals/gasket i should replace alone with all the timming parts?
