Ok i searched but couldnt find the answer to this one. I want to check my timing belt to see how it looks. I found the cover to the timing belt it looks like 2 bolts hold a cover to it but before i take those to bolts off i wanted to find out if this piece comes off.

ok thanks. i checked the belt it looks good all teeth are still there cracked a couple times to make sure. started car and looked and all looked good. the only thing is when i first pushed on the belt right pully moved maybe 1cm and the belt felt loose then i started the car and it made a screaching sound (ive heard this before on in the winter on cold starts) then it went away. I turned the car off and checked the belt again it was super tight and the pully didnt move at all so im not sure what happend but it seems to be fixed. Im not sure if that screching sound is from the timing belt or the other belt because its not he first time i heard it how do i find out which it is?

I have the exact same problem in my talon. I'm just going to replace all the belts and tensioners to be safe since i don't even think the previous owner did any maintenance at all. Listening for where a squeel is coming from especially when the timing belt and balance shaft belt are so close together is very difficult, personally i suggest replacing tensioners and belts if you haven't done that yet/in awhile.
