I was wondering if you can put the top of the timeing belt cover on with out pulling the engine?

This woud be on a 1gen motor, the reason i ask is because the only time you can put the covers on the 2g are when you replace the timing bet it self and every thing is out of the way.

thanks

yes you can. u just need to remove the drivers side motor mount, alternator and ps pulley(the ones that bolt to the water pump) and crank pulley.

^^^agreed

Pull the motor mount (be sure to place a jack and 2x4 under the oil pan of course) and raise and lower the engine as needed to remove all pullies. It's not hard, just time consuming.
