I'm going to go ahead and order my parts and get ready for my big job coming up.

Here is what I have so far:

Front Case Gasket
Oil filter housing gasket
Front main seal
Oil pump sprocket seal
Timing belt Idler Pulley
Timing belt tensioner Pulley
Timing Belt Hydraulic
water pump kit
SBR balancer shaft removal kit
OEM oil pan (mine is dented in)

some quick questions I have is that the last owner said he replaced the Tbelt and Waterpump. I removed the Tbelt cover on the valvecover and it Tbelt looked brand new, I mean the teeth were in new condition. That makes me wonder if Water pump is still good. Should I just go ahead and replace Tbelt and get everything fresh?

also the Front case gasket is the Tbelt cover gasket right under the waterpump pulley?

thanks

There is a gasket for the oil pump pickup that you need when you pull the front cover.

How old is the oil pump? Ask the P.O. when the waterpump was changed.
I go 120k between water pumps and oil pumps on the 4G63.
Cam Seals?
What about the BS elimination parts? Special tools? I couldn't get the castle nut off without a tool.

The gasket I call the front cover gasket is the one that goes between the block and the front cover not any of the gaskets that go between the front cover and the timing belt cover.

well the motor from what I was told is from a junk yard that was totaled, it has 25k miles. The last owner said the waterpump and timing belt were replaced. I don't doubt that since the Tbelt is new. I will replace the Cam seals aswell. I don't recall seeing a castle nut on the vfaq walkthrough. Should I go ahead and just purchase new TBelt?

Sorry I forget why I needed to remove the nut when I did mine.
I wouldn't try and save a few bucks and reuse a timing belt. The downside costs are so high that it isn't worth the risk.

It's not clear to me what the details are here, if the last owner refers to a car owner or somebody that bought the engine from the junk yard and started working on it. That might make a difference in the advice.

The last owner bought the car from some guy who had a blown headgasket, so he went to junkyard to find the motor. I will just go ahead and replace the Tbelt too.

thanks
