just trying to understand the relation in tima and knock on my car. i would post log but cannot hotsync palm with computer. so i will do the best i can. in a third gear pull at 5500 rpm (as far as i am pushing this car right now) my knock is 15 and tima is 16*. at about 4000 rpm my knock is at its high of 19 and tima is at 15*. now also at 2250 rpms i have no knock and my tima is 35*. during the wot pull my o2 is at .82-.83. now i know with the mods that i have i am going to have problems but im trying to get this thing to run good with what it has. boost is set at 16 psi on the avcr. any advice would be helpfull. thanks.

The cheap fix: Pump a tank of 100 octane fuel and call it a day. That should take your knock to almost nothing at 14psi on a lightly modded car. 16psi is a too much I think with those knock counts. Kill the boost to first eliminate detonation, and then gradually increase according to octane level and knock until you get it under 5 counts. Octane and boost are the only factors you can really control at this point, unless you give it some more fuel via AVCR. Turning the boost down would be my first suggestion, but I like my car more than most do.

the alternative: Well you know the deal, you can fill in this blank with a variety of things, non of which will cost you any less than $500 bucks.

Nice car by the way, clean dark blue is hard to come by.

Sounds a little lean and that can cause knock(add fuel) but you should be running rich with the 255hp and no AFPR,Check the screw on the bottom of your MASS and make sure it is not screwed all the way out, I would check your knock sensor on the back of your block, if it is leaking any black tar like gew, than it is going bad and will cause a bad reading that will retard timing.

yea, the knock sensor is starting to be soft on the back. what screw on the mass are you refering to ? anyway, thanks, i will be replacing the knock sensor soon and will be replacing the 1g mas with a 2g.
