r6's is for autocross + dry roadtrack, regulars are for drag racing. so what do you do the most?

I read that, I'm hoping that someone has used the R6's and can tell if they were able to pull of a great 60' time or not. Right now it's mostly drag racing but road course is in the very near future.

So I know I'm going with Hoosier but I can't decided if I want the standard or the R6's. Anyone run them, if so what are your thoughts. These will also be on my 17" rims.

I run them and love them, I've only gotten out to the track once in the 3 years I've owned them unfortunately. STM runs these on Shawna's black Evo if you're looking for performance off the line on a high HP AWD car. R6's seem more of a road course type radial, so really it depends on what you plan on doing with the car. If you're straight line then I'd get the DOT but if you're autox/road racing it then the R6's.

Something you should know, I had to run 5mm spacers in the rear to clear the knuckle running these on Evo wheels.

You've gotta go white letters out...

^ dang!! I was thinking of getting a set of r6's for my gvr4 and use them for autocross. They definitely seem to hold up well on the dragstrip, although his 60' was only 1.8 if I saw correctly, imagine that car on real slicks and cutting under 1.5 60'!, would have a sick e.t. I vote for the r6's for sure and can't wait to get a set and run them on all my cars, also wanna grab 2 more qtp's to have those as a option. :)

Which ones?

The drag radials, ...right?
I think somebody interpreted that as you talking about R6's.

I suppose there's some gray area there, I run the DR's... LOL

This was supposed to kinda clear that up but I guess I really didn't mention it in there either. Thanks for pointing that out but, either way, both are a good choice depending on which type of track your DSM sees.

If you're planning to drag race only, use the drag radials. If you're planning to do any competition involving turns, use the R6's (A6's for autocross, R6's for road racing). Either one will be a significant improvement in your 1/4 times, though.

As a side note, they are absolutely not for driving on the street - they have essentially 0 tread and any puddle or even patch of dust could send you back end forward with no warning.
