Well with this time of year here and im on a tight budget and looking to get a afpr for my 92 talon nt with the turbo conversion. Looked online with ebay and found a few dif afpr's. Just wondering if they are even worth the 20-40 bucks you spend on them. Thanks for the imput everybody.

Why don't you just get a stock 5 speed regulator?

You do not necessarily need a AFPR. I ran my 1g for a while with a 255 in the tank on the stock regulator without any issues.

I do run one now and I run the Fuel Lab Mini Regulator from STM. Fits great and is nice and small so it does not take up a lot of space.

I would not trust one from Ebay personally.

Im using a fuel lab regulator also, haven"t had a problem with it yet..If your on a budget and don"t want to use a turbo 5 speed one you can put a willing to buy ad.. Chances are people will have aftermarket ones laying around the garage that they will let go for cheap, can"t forget this forem is pretty big, someone will defenity help you out

I have the stock 5 speed regulator allready in my talon now. And have a spare as well. Just know that i will need to upgrade later and seeing if anybody had luck with the ebay afpr's

I see you have a 255, so I'd recommend an actual AFPR, like the one I have. With an OEM FPR you'll just be running rich all the time.

If you really can't afford one, get a 1g Auto FPR.

If it's very short term I don't see aproblem with an Ebay AFPR. But if your wanting a long term solution, look for a used AFPR. A DSM install kit is nice too if you don't want to weld AN fittings to your fuel rail.

This is not entirely true. I run a 255 in the tank and just recently put a AFPR on my car.

I run link and from switching from the stock FPR to the AFPR there was no difference I had to do tuning wise.

My car ran just fine with the stock FPR pushing 40 lb/min.

To the OP, if you have the stock 5 speed turbo FPR I would keep it until you can afford a good quality regulator honestly.

Also more pressure is not always better. The more pressure you run the less volume the pump can produce.

If you look up the flow charts for a 255 you will see that as you increase fuel pressure you get less volume from the pump.

Who said you had to weld?

What afpr do yyou have. Been looking at the AEM and fuel lab kits. A whole 15 bucks difference. Whats the deciding factor?

I have the one I posted in the link.

I don't think there's much of a difference but I see most reputable builds have Aeromotive AFPR so that's what I went for. I also was lucky enough to privately buy mine new off the classifieds here (guy bought it new but never used it) so I saved a little dough.

i had a buddy tell me about using the nissan fpr. i believe from the sr20's. they are adjustable. and fairly cheap
