Well, Last month i had to replace my Front Passenger side Wheel Bearing. Before i put my wheel back on i took a piece of wood (2x4) and a rubber hammer and hit my axle in to make sure it was in correct.

3 weeks later i began to hear ticking noise coming from my timing side. I put in a little bit of oil and that did not help. It is not lifter tick.

The noise only happens when i press the clutch to shift, start the car or while i have it pressed in/down. It sounds like a rapid tick and it increases with the RPMS.

Would me hitting in the axle cause the crank to move forward thus causing it to bang against the CAS? Or is it simply my TOB?

Background on Car.

1996 7 Bolt.
Professionally Rebuilt (Stock) Has 2300 Miles on Rebuild
Balance Shafts Removed.
Clutch Slave Cylinder needs replacing (Keep losing Fluid after 10 miles of Driving)

This is the Second Rebuild and i really do not want to give up on my car :sosad:

I don't think you hitting your axle is gonna cause your crank to tick. that is so not possible. because your axles are connect to your transmission. and you said you replace the wheel barings. i would check that first, then transmission. you do have a 7bolt so there is that C word but you should be thinking about it last. check your wheel baring first, then transmission, then engine. good luck

My first week of owning the car it spun a bearing.
The rebuilt motor was out of spec.
Third motor is in good shape.

I have replaced and fixed two turbos, leaking oil pan, 2 Valve covers two clutches, fuel line, wheel bearings, and countless more items. Altogether i have spent, 6000 dollars on parts after purchasing the car that i am constantly working on.
