i dont know what happen. all i know is the symptoms. loud ticking from the engine. rear engine mount is broke (has been for a few month) bad idea to drive it like that but id got me to where i needed. i went to throw it in reverse and it mad a loud grind. the engine is idling at around 2300rpm. sorry i haven't had time to search threw the forums much. only answers ive found are maybe an exhaust leak from manifold or bad lifters. could it be caused by crushed/dented innercooler piping? may have hit that an the way to work. its ghetto routed under the cross member.

also the oil light was flashing on and off while i shifter. because the engine would rock i figured it was shorting out. i seen a loose wire that was hitting the alternator and i just taped it up. now im thinking that could have came from the oil sending unit.

Ticking is the lifters. change to thicker oil or use 3gen lifters. Valvoline vr1 20w50 will eliminate that tickin

Its your bad rear motor mounts change that out.
Probably when u threw it into reverse it shaked so good or because it idlein at 2300 can cause it to grind while tryin to engage.

Adjust your throttle see if the idle goes down. There should be a screw that pushes the throttle spring sometimes it loose or to tight.

i just changed the oil with gtx high milage. and it rocks hard when i shift so i ride the clutch a little.
