Throttle Body Sensor Questions

So I have some bad luck with tb's in the psat month. Mine went bad, the 1g I bought was leaky and bad, and the 2g one I bought leaks also. I could have just replaced the shaft seals of course but there were other problems. So I decided to buy a 200 dollar fully refurbished throttle body. I got a few questions though. It does not come with either sensor.

When I put the lower tan sensor on, (sorry I dont know what sensor that is) will I have to adjust it, or is it just a bolt-on piece?

I do not have a ohm meter, and the tps is impossible to adjust while on the car. Is there any way of adjusting it without anything electrical?

The tan sensor on the bottom that your refering too should be the ISC. This is self-adjusting but the ecu see's no feedback of this sensor position so when you install it, you need to reset the ecu which will center the ISC in its travel range once it's powered up the first time. To reset the ecu, disconnect the battery for a few min & then hook it back up.

To adjust the TPS you need either a multimeter & gap gauge or using DSMLink works too (which it doesn't look like you have). I have never used a logger but if you can log TPS volts & raw throttle position you should be able to adjust it with the logger but this might be abit of a pain adjusting it on the car.

As a side note, don't be alarmed if you have a strange idle when you first install the new TB. Since the ISC has been reset it takes some time for the ISC to adjust itself to obtain the correct idle position.

Not that I know of, the TPS has a voltage output. How are you going to adjust something without having something to measure its output? If you do have a logger & it can capture those values I listed above, you should be able to plug in the connectors on the TB before its fully bolted on & adjust it that way. But other then that need a multimeter & gap gauge.

Ok I have a logger, I forgot it didnt have to be full hoooked up.

Okay if you have a logger & can log these values you should be able to set it up (I've only used DSMLink to do this). With the throttle plate sitting in the resting position you want to see a raw throttle position of 32 or a TPS voltage of .63volts. Then when you rotate the TB to WOT if you can look at throttle position look for a value over 92% (I believe this is the min to be considered WOT). If you can log the idle switch, its also a good idea to see that the switch is switching on/off when your at idle & then just touch the gas.

Cant I just log throttle position and make sure its at 0% when I put it in?

With a logger, adjust it around 9-10% with the car running at idle. I can't remember what that is when the car is off, but I'm sure it could be found with a quick search.

2g's are suppose to be at 0%. I dont know if thats at idle or off. I checked my current one and it was at 0% when the car was off.

I have always set my tps volts to .061 when the car was off because it always jumped up .002 when the car was on.
