Throttle Body Question

Hi!!! My question is will a throttle body from a 1991 eagle talon FWD Turbo, fit onto my 1994 eagle talon AWD Turbo intake manifold? From what i can see on my throttle body is that i have 4 vacuum lines plugging into the top of it, while on this 91 throttle body it only has 2. So i am not sure what to do.. The screw on top of my throttle body is all stripped out and mashed....so i need to replace the entire throttle body....yay.....any ideas guru's?

Yes a 91 throttlebody will fit on a 94 intake manifold,there the same through 91-94.The 91 throttlebody you picked up is from a 90 dsm that came with 2 nipple sources.Just find another 91-94 throttlebody at the junkyard or on the classifieds

Yes, it'll work. Not sure why it only has 2 ports though. Are you sure it's not a '90 and the other two ports are on the side? Or maybe someone pulled the other 2 out?

How do you know the screw is stripped? If you're trying to unscrew it out, it won't. It has to be pushed out.

It is the idle adjustment screw on the throttle body, mine is destroyed, so the idle is going INSANE, but even if it isn't the culprit of my idling woes, at least i have peace of mind knowing that i replaced that gnarly looking conglomeration of stripped out metal. I will post some pics tomorrow of both Throttle body's and you guys can decide which looks better!

Why dont you just take the screw from one and put it in yours?

I think hes saying that the threads in the throttle body are stripped, not the biss screw.

I have yet to see a throttle body with stripped threads. The head of the screw might be stripped since the 1g's had metal screws. All you need to do is extract the old screw (easiest to do from inside the throttle body) and get a new BISS screw and BISS o-ring.

The 2nd picture is a '90 throttle body. The one on your car is a typical '91-'94 throttle body.

NO i cannot get the screw to spin at all in either direction, It is (from what i can see) Just the top of the screw it is like this but a little more smooshed.

and they guy told me that the throttle was from a 91...so he just wanted to make a quick $40 huh?

Would you be able to get an extractor in there?

+1 or you might try a small chisel. I think the metal ones are a softer lead or brass if I remember right. Before you drill a hole and use the extractor try a chisel and punch it and see if it will get a bite.
