I was building a cold air intake and the pictures were killing my website so I removed them... thanks for all the input

I hope that worked.. I just blocked off that damn air passage and coolant passage on the bottom. I beleive thats an IAC.

bump

Well I took off the wiring harness to that thing and it ran great all night.. Im doing it damnit.. This is what I get for posting in the newbie area. also about the honey comb mod no body actually shows a before and after picture of exactly what goes on with that.. there is usually a before and a horrible description of what they did.. someone got a link to a good one

Don't remove that stuff, it's what makes your car idle right.

To remove the honeycomb, you basically just... remove the honeycomb.

ok.. I will take it out... After I unplugged that piece I had no surging problems also.. kind of a nice side affect.. I can change idle speed with BISS... I just wasnt sure if there were two honeycombs somewhers... I will test it tonight (i deliver pizza) and put it up later thanks

by removing the fiav stuff, your car will not run very well when it gets cold out (winter) until it is fully warmed up.

And by removing the isc your car will not idle at the same speed when in neutral, as compared to when a/c is on, or all the electrical is on, or (if auto) in drive.

Basically.... that stuff isnt there to be removed. Its there to make your car more user friendly.

It never idled right when all that stuff is on.. since ive had the car 2 years
it runs a little rough when cold... doesnt take but a few mins to warm up.. Im putting a choke cable on it to pull that butterfly open a little bit in the morning.. I took out the AC so thats not a problem.. I removed the silencer, I tried that hacked MAS it ran like shi@ on the freeway.. kept surging once in a while.. so I dont recommend that one.. It worked good around town. and I saved it for when i am at the track.. but no good for the freeway... all i did was remove that honeycomb thing... with these few things I can really hear the air going in the intake...and the throttle body stays pretty cool when your actually running air through it.. it gets warm in traffic but cools down again... besides all this I cant wait to get my talon running.. I got pics in the gallery now.. thanks for all the help
