Just want to know if i need to replace any gaskets when i take out the throttle body on my gsx before cleaning it? plus is there anything else i can clean while im at it? thanks guys!

Yes you will need to replace 2 TB gaskets when you remove the throttle body. I would also replace the BISS screw O-ring as it can be difficult to remove with the throttle body installed (remember to adjust it when reinstalling). Now is also a good time to decide if you want to install a FIAV blockoff or bypass plate. You can also check your TPS sensor and adjust if needed.

PERFECT! can you link me to all these parts? idk where to buy them or how they look. :|

I like extremepsi, but most vendors carry them

I forgot about the throttle body shaft seals. You can perform a boost leak test to see if you have any leaks in the TB. That way you will know what you need to replace, but I would replace them anyway since they're not expensive.

EXTREME PSI : Your #1 Source for In Stock Performance Parts
O-ring on page 1, TB gaskets and shaft seals on page 2
Search for FIAV for the blockoff plates

Refer to the manual under Fuel/MFI for TPS adjustment

Make 100% sure you count the turns it takes to bottom out the BISS, BEFORE removing it. That is assuming the ISC pathway was relativity clean.

Just to give you a heads up the 2 bolts that hold the throttle plate will be very tight and you will strip them if you don't have the correct size screwdriver. Well if you do strip them like I did you can get similar ones at home depot, remember to lock tight them in as you dont want them to fall out at WOT.

they have lock tight on the screws . if you get a mini torch from home depot and heat them up they will come out a lot easier .

Yea I figured that now because for the amount of torque it took to take them out would of stripped them going in. Now that I put lock tight on them I will be using heat to get them out. Sucky job.

It's almost easier to just drill the heads off the ones that are being a pain, pull it apart, take the stubs left out with vise grips, and replace with something nicer. Like an allen head bolt. You can put more torque on those later than the dumb phillips they put on there.
You may want to talk with snowboarder Blasted/Rebuilt Throttle Body Service - DSM Classifieds or extremepsi. Support the guys that keep this site going. :thumb:

Actually it's much easier/quicker to use the correct tool (impact driver - hand tool) and a properly fitting phillips head bit.
