Is it ok that I didn't block off the 2 holes when I sprayed carb cleaner in the Tb?

I didnt block off anything when I cleaned my 3Gs throttle body. The only prob I had was getting it to start right after that, after it turned over once it never had a problem again. I think someone said it could damage equipment...but I dunno. I just know that I didnt have a problem after I did that on my eclipse.

After I cleaned mine, I let it sit for a few days where nothing could get to it, but it was able to dry out. Replaced the gaskets, put it back on, and the car started right up.

It's best to remove the ICS but if you don't want too YES cover the 2 holes and you can save yourself allot of money. The week before I went to Norwalk Raceway Park back in 1998 I was preparing my car for maintenance. Only had my DSM not even a year and was pumped up to get to go share the experience in viewing some of the most jaw dropping cars one could imagine. I decided to clean the TB and sprayed the hell out of her as part of the maintenance ritual. I didn't read the manual nor did I ask anyone, I just went to town. Come to find out that all the TB cleaner had drained itself back into the ICS. The car never did start until I replaced the ICS with a new one. Looking back now, I will always remove that ghat dam ICS thing when I clean the TB. :talon:

accutally out of luck I put a shop towel on the bottom of the TB when I cleaned it so no cleaner would run out and drip on everything. Can you say LUCKY? LOL
