Thread repair

This probably doesn't belong here but since it's a cylinder head why not. Has anybody used the autozone 6mm thread repair kits? I've got the hole drilled, verified it's .250 inch and this tap will not grab no matter what I do. It's marked correctly as an ST6.0x1 tap. This will likely turn into a "don't buy autozone crap" thread but that's fine. I just couldn't find the helicoil brand locally. Bad tap? Or just poor quality?

Gonna answer my own thread. Autozone kit sucks. Found the helicoil kit. 5 min it's fixed.

Did you chamfer the hole after you drilled it? I’ve found that can really help the tap get started.

I didn't. Thought about it. Just got pissed.
