but wanted a couple of opinions first : )

OK Currently i have a 96 Talon that is running Blow Through with MAFT 2.x. I'm having some tuning issues with it, well only when the car is cold... once it warms up it's just fine but whatever. I have a 2G FORGE Bov that is Venting(made that way) and i'd like to keep it but i want to get rid of the MAFT.

1. When i swap to DSMlink and do away with the MAFT i can still run Vented or No?
2. So to run Dsmlink w/o the MAFT i need to get my 2g MAS back and get a 95ECU right? that's it?

what inspired this. my engine Walked  and i'm fixing to put a new one in :D
while the car's been down i've not researched anything about the car... i went and got 2 bikes, LOL, CBR 1000rr and a Ninja. Anyways since i have the bikes i'm not looking for anything but a Good tune and to keep my mid/low 13 sec car : )

1. No, you can NOT vent properly without the MAF-T.
2. Yes and no...you will also need a laptop or PALM to run DSMLink on. Plus (but not required) a WB and MAP sensor for better tuning ability.

Not to discourage you from DSMLink as I use it myself, but a 13 second car can easily be had with a SAFC and a lot less money.

1) But if they got DSMLink, they could set the MAF-T to zero across the board and just tune directly with DSMLink (After they select the MAF option)
2) With Link, the 2G MAS problem is fixed. But yes you will need to find a '95 Eprom. Depending on how you want it (Pre-socketed, bone stock, etc) it may take a little time to find a decent one. I just received mine so if you keep looking you can get a good one for a reasonable price.

Agreed.

LOL, my 1st 12 second pass was done with no fuel controll what so ever.

ahh ok, i have a Nice laptop and i have Palm so np there
Venting bad, gotcha
i was planning on getting a WB anyways so np there

Unless i can fix ### ass issue what no one can seem to fix with MAFT i'm throwing it out the window. Issue is when the engine is cold(as in 1st start for a few hours) it will Bog anything under 3k. I've tried using the enrichment thing that it has for the first few mins while the engine is cold but that didn't help. Anyways that's for a diff thread

You say use SAFC is i only want my car to be quick but not fast, ok
I've done no Research on SAFC, it's good to use untill when? untill i want to go to 11's? 10's? what or HP rating? Just so i kno : )

Then why don't you pick up a Stage III chip from DSMChips with your injector size, A/F ratio and timing that you want to run?

Everybody who trys to tune with the MAFT fails in one way or another. You can not fine tune with it. It is a great thing if you want to vent but I do not suggest it to try to tune with. I've had MAFT's in my past two cars and love them for being able to vent properly, but other than that...zero that thing out and do your tuning with an SAFC/logger setup and FPR to say the least.

DSMLink is a very good tool. It is well worth the $800 you will spend between the ECU/socketing and the program/chip itself. I would suggest making your investment in DSMlink rather than a SAFC/logger setup which will give you not even 1/8th of the options that DSMLink will.

SAFC's have been known to tune cars up to over 500 HP and well into the 10's. They don't use a simple logger setup to accomplish that though. That is normally done with professional tuning on a dyno and countless dollars.

DSMLink is the ultimate next to a full stand alone and is by far the best way to go if you want to maintain all of your stock wiring, etc.
