I'am thinking about buying a 1996 Gst with a 6 bolt motor swap which has 60k miles on it and the chasis has 80k it has a 18b turbo with 500 miles on it and a new clutch with 500 miles on it, the silent shafts have been removed. The cars sunroof motor doesnt work, it need a new sunroof motor and it need a new front shock. The timming belt is new so is the alternator belt and the altenator as well. oil and filter have been changed as well as the tranny fluid. The guy sold the exhast, downpipe, and 550 fuel injectors, so now he is is running 450 injects and stock exhast. What do u guys think about the car and him running 450 injectors?

It also has..

obx monster fmic/w custom piping
greddy bov
sbr mbc 10 psi( right now for breaking in motor)
custom hard piping for intake
ported manifold (intake)
ported exhaust mani
fully ported 18g turbo fresh rebuild less then 500
act 2400lb clutch
190 fuel pump
safc2
new radiator push start button
vis acrbon fiber hood

440cc? you mean 450cc? i would return everything that he took off that way its the same as when he owned it before he sold it. How much are you getting the car for?

I got my eclipse all stock and didn't run right, I fixed it and got mods at it. I paid 900 bucks for the whole car.

He is asking around $8,000 but hopefully i can get him to lower the price..the problem is the seller lives 9 hours away from me and if i put better fuel injectors in over there before driving it back home do you guys think i would be ok with the stock exhast and downpipe?

thanks for your advice guys i appreciate it

im confused, why would there be a problem with running stock exhaust? 450s arnt that big.

You will be fine, if anything just gas mileage will suffer.

I would tell him you don't want it ESPECIALLY for that price, If he is de-modding the car and removing some important parts and putting back to stock. As for the exhaust question above, What would be so wrong with a stock exhaust.. Well, The car is modded, And a stock exhaust is very very restrictive. I would not want a modded car with a stock exhaust, All that airflow has no place to go. Also, 450's are stock injectors, What do you mean when you told him only his gas milage will suffer? Did he have the car tuned with the 550's in? Because now that he threw in(Or is about to), the stock 450's, The tune is going to be useless for the car.

8000$ is alot for that car. I was trying to sell mine for $7,000, When I just spent $7,000 in parts/mods in the past few months with all reciepts to prove it. Not including the car which I bought for 5grand.

Anyways, $8,000 is steep for a fwd 96, Especially now that he is trying to remove parts off the car.

If i get that car i would put better fuel injectors in it before driving it back home. I was just wondering if i would damage the engine or something if i drove it back home 600 miles with the stock exhast and downpipe.

well if your this concerned, why not just take a hacksaw to the muffler before you drive it homeROFL

but seriously just dont hammer down the whole way home there should be no problem, and why are these 450s in question?

So you think i'll be ok with the stock exhast and downpipe for the drive home with new fuel injectors? And ya im gonna try to get him down to 7000$, and do u mean i shouldn't drive all the way home in one day? ...

Ya i would put the new fuel injectors before i drive home, the guy said the car was tuned for braking, not racing or high psi

The guy who is selling the car just told me only if you have the psi throught the roof with 450s would it be bad for the engine and that on a stock exhaust you can get up to 300 hp and 15psi and he has afc to controll air and the fuel so its safe .

i still dont understand WHY you need new injectors to drive home, they are working 450s correct???

what do you guys think about the stock exhaust at 15psi and the afc to controll air and the fuel so its safe?

No! let us know what the price is before you make a jump like that. The small issues add up in price.

Get us more details and we can help you more.:D

NO! The only issues are it has a stock exhaust and injectors on it. His question wasnt if he should buy it but if it would be ok to drive it on the stock injectors and exhaust.

Because the car is tuned for 550cc injectors. Now what is he going to do when he throws in 450cc injectors? The tune would be way off, The car would run like shit, If at all.

ummmmm... it's just an AFC. If you use 450s, zero the afc out. Thats all you have to do. He probably already did that.

Yeah, And driving the car 600 miles home, You're going to tell me he isn't going to hit full boost at all? I would rather be safe then sorry.. But do what you all want and then post a thread about how unreliable these cars are, Once yours breaks. Goodluck with your decision.

8k= rip off. offer a grand :D

Wow someones a low baller...LOL

Id get the injectors down there, have him tune it for you, and not worry about exhaust until you get back. Oh and 7k for that car is a good deal in NorCal. has anyone actually read the list of mods?
