So i just got my thermal R&D catback in the mail with my 3" Megan downpipe to find that they actually DONT have a 3" bolt up to the cat, but the stock 2.25 or whatever, so now im completely screwed because im broke as hell right now and my downpipe and catback wont bolt up ffs... HELP PLEASE!

You should have called or checked with megan or thermal..To find out if it was a cat delete, before freaking out..Since you have no money, save a hundred and get a summit racing 3 inch hi flow cat, or have a local exahust shop make you a test pipe with the right size flanges..

That's all you can do right now..So I hope you didn't tear anything apart..

Naw it is a cat delete, I knew that, but i posted a thread on here after reading up on thermal and everyone was agreeing that it had a 3" bolt up, but can i just have someone make me a 3" end to fit up to my downpipe? thats what im leaning towards but how much would that cost?

Stop buying from non-DSM specializing vendors if you want 100% factual information on a component and not a cut and paste of a description with some flavor added in to entice you to buy. Especially when you didn't even actually save any money.

Your only choice is to use the stock downpipe and cat until you are no longer poor or to pay a shop 40.00 to 60.00 give or take to cut off the stock flange on the Thermal and re-welding in a 3 inch flange. Or you could use your brain and carefully align the flanges and make sure the gasket overlaps the gap and drive around with an unnoticeable exhaust leak for the time being.

And getting a refund is stupid...since every other place you buy it from sells you the exact same kit. There is nothing BS about this, anyone with a Thermal exhaust could have confirmed this fact for you.

well i wish someone wouldve chimed in earlier but whatever, what kind of shop would hack and weld a new flange on for me?

Just about every exhaust shop you can come across, just don't bring it to a place like Midas.

How big is the gap between the Megan DP and the RD CB? I think all you need is the 3x2.5 reducer. It came with me n1 on my last 2G to bolt up to stock DP and 3" exhaust. Your using a 2g DP that deletes the cat right? I didn't check out your profile before typing this, but I am thinking all you need is the little piece that steps up the DP to fit the 3" CB.

Bringing this thread back from the dead to order the exhaust gaskets I need. I have the Megan Racing DP that deletes the cat, and am bolting up the Thermal R&D 3 inch cat-back. I dont currently have my car back from the shop to get underneath to check but is this thread saying that the outlet on the 3 inch Megan downpipe necks before it matches up to the 3 inch opening on the Thermal exhaust?

Sorry man, if i would have seen the post when you asked I would have told you it is 2.5/2.25 bolt on flange then get's bigger. I almost ran into the same trap before when i wanted a RRE downpipe and high flow cat to bolt to the 3" Thermal but i emailed them first and they said it wont work. Main reason because Thermal isnt a TRUE 3" exhaust. Im pissed, they sound pretty good but that right there did it for me.
