life happens.... new motor in September of 25, finally getting things buttoned up now..... july of 26.
its all back together and ready to party.... sort of. first fire up didnt go as planned. car wont stay running. suspected clogged injectors from sitting the last few months. swapped to known good stock units, no change. Removed msd box suspecting that as a culprit: no change. inspected some wiring since that was all disturbed: everything is connected as far as i can tell. At best the motor will run for a brief couple seconds and die ,while it runs it sounds like a misfire and just before it shuts down it sounds like it clears up and then just goes silent. Plugs were fouled up but dry, not wet. (i also had some descrepencies getting the new injectors set up and also a weak battery to start fuel filter clean. Iac motor is getting warm during this testing which concerns me a bit. ive attemped to fire it up with tps/ maf disconnected but no change. coolant temp is logging correct. PTU was swapped without any change.
things i havent verified: will it run on starting fluid? ( i have fuel pressure but is it a volume issue)
Mpi relay issue ? I dont believe so because ecmlink isnt losing communication during this ordeal
crank angle sensor: in order to swap this it will require 90% engine removal due to clearance with firewall.
not related to this is an oil leak thats either oil pan gasket related or rear main seal that i need to sort and due to it not running long enough i cant troubleshoot it yet .
I've really doubted i could get the car ready for the shootout or even bring it due to some other obligations but in shootout scramble spirit im trying to get it done.
