Well here it is, I'm looking into buying a 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse RS, auto trans, factory 5spoke rims.... The car has 168,000 miles on it. The front bumper needs some work, the front left panel needs to be replaced. It has some rust around the door jams and underneath.

Well maybe in your area but around here your lucky to see an Eclipse.
And BTW, it is marked below book price (my dad is a dealer and checked it).


The ONLY other option is a unknown year to me Eclipse Gs-T with a BLITZ bodykit and I was told NOT to buy a car and then take the bodykit off................. Why I don't know.........

im saying is that its a rs .no turbo. no power windows, no power seats, no leather, NO GROUND AFFECTS...............THATS ALOT NO MATTER WHERE YOU LIVE FOR A BASE MODEL . and you are on a performance sight. unless you plan on turboing it, its a snail, so i hope that you are NOT buying it as a performance car, cause its not at all unless you put about 5 grand into it.

As mentioned above, it's overpriced. I got my gst for 2k, hell of a deal i'd say with less miles than the one you're about to get has.
Save your money and keep looking around.

DSM IN MN ,,, don't take just my word for it, take everyone's advise on here. you are saying that it needs this, and needs that, has dents here, there, rust here, there......it sounds like a waste of your money . hard earned money in this economy, and if your parents are buying you the car, don't disrespect them and just blow it on a clunker.

how bout you start looking on craigslist in your general area, even if you had to drive like 200 miles to get a better deal

too much. i sold the same car (my moms) about 5 years back with less than 80k miles for $5000. i'm sure its worth like 2k now. there is a RS here for about 4k but it has a built engine, all Eagle, with reciepts anda Hahn racecraft turbo kit. i would either buy a GST, GSX or if its not boosted it better be built with proof.

you are right its not on the list, so i went to minneapolis/st.paul, then i went to the top to make search smaller, and punched in madena..................so stop with the excuses. you said you cant find any thing cheaper in good condition..... well i live like 1500 miles away and i found one for you in less that 2 minutes

Hey man, if I had a money tree and my parents did as well we would go farther. But seeing we don't local is better.

I want a 2g. I would LOVE to have a 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX but that like WAY more money then I think car be spent of a first car. A Gs-T will HAVE to do.........
I would RATHER have a reliable FWD 2g then a un-reliable and very spendy 1g AWD. I don't have ALL that mich money, the closer to me the better......

Runs and drives.
Little rust. Little front end damage, but nothing a rubber Hammer couldnt fix.
Keep looking.
