OK well i definitely love the way the apexi n1 exhaust looks. Extremepsi has the apexi n1 3 inch downpipe and apexi n1 3 inch catback for a $700 deal which i think isn't to bad. My friend said that his friend bought it on his car and it didn't sound that loud because it had like 3 resonators.. That doesn't bother me because i don't want it to be that loud.. Does that many resonators effect performance?Also he said that his cel light came on when he installed the downpipe. Is that because there is no cat and if so what will i have to buy to turn the light off? something like a cat sensor that tells it is has a cat on there? Thanks a lot guys.

there is a second o2 sensor I believe in the 2g dsm stock exhaust, if he didn't deal with the second sensor when installing the exhaust and it's just flopping around while driving, that might be it.

Honestly, a pipe is a pipe. If you like the N1 muffler, take it to an exhasut shop and have them do a custom exhaust for you. Have them take it up on a lift a go over where you'd like them to run the system etc... It'll also be alot cheaper than the full N1 system.

ya i was thinking of just getting a cheap one made but i would rather buy quality for some reason.. Does anyone know if there is a chip i can attach to the sensor so it wouldn't put the cel light on?

Hey look , I can make you that exhaust and also rewire te o2 sensor for you.....just dont cut it yet. call my cell and wel talk about the boostleak test exhaust and all this other stuff. hows tomarrow for it?

i made my cat back and i only have about $140 into it with a $90 muffler but i have a shop to do it in so i didn't have any labor and i did it easy i just ran it straight back ducked under the tank then but a bend of about 35deg. in it to point it out so that the muffler came out the hole in the bumper. it was all out of 3" and i took it to a shop and mandrel bent it and it sounds very good and throaty. not to loud but not to quiet. i do know there isn't many exhaust shops that will do it like that because if the risk of burning the thing up but o well.

by QUALITY do you mean a pipe that has a name brand stamped on it?

you can have an exhaust shop make you almost the exact same exhaust, with the same or better quality. If you want to spend money on an exhaust that costs a rediculous amount of money, then go ahead.

Originally I had planned on building my ex. myself, but I now have the RNR turbo back, b/c I bought the car w/ it. Most standard ex. shops have press bend ex. benders witch is not a big deal if you don't car about a smaller size in the bends. But w/ a reg. shop, it will cost no more than a few hundred bucks.

On my car I had a full Turboback 3 inch exhaust Installed and ready to go from the shop for 300 even, I supplied the Apexi Muffler. Its not too loud, My friend has the sound dampening out and its hella loud.

My advice- Get a Mandrel Bent setup from a local garage

has anyone bougt all the menderal bends you would need and taken them somewhere to be welded together?anyone know of an exaust shop in the east bay (walnut creek area) i think it would just be more work tho, cuz you have to get all the flanges (im keeping the cat to pass the smog...and the downpipe needs one) and the enlarger from the 2.5 inch o2 to a full 3 inch system... has anyone had their exaust go out the side by either of the tires... the idea of a shorter exaust system is just SOOO APPEALING to me....... pv=nrt.....im a man of physics, and physics tells me, the shorter the exaust system, the bigger the diameter you can make it without bad effects...

I am going to make mine. It will be pretty easy . I have the mig and can buy all the bends locally. I will buy a 3" Megan downpipe cause you can get them fairly cheap. It will take a better part of a day but can porbably be done for under 100 without the muffler.. Hope that helps.. TTY

well i guess what i meant by quality was : One i don't have to make or go to a shop and have them custom make it . also i could just order it and it be at my house on my car in 3 days. With bare minimum work on my part because i lack the skills needed to do that and don't want to wait 3 weeks for a shop to make one for me. o ya.. I also like the brand name You nailed it

it doesn't take three weeks to make one, i went in with a downpipe and an hks hi-power muffler and asked them to make a 3 inch cat-back with it and i was outta there with my new turbo-back in about in an hour and a half or so.

wow.. i wish i had mechanic's that were near me that did stuff that fast. There are 3 shops within a 10 mile radius of where i live that do good work. there are about 5 more that you can't trust for more than a tune-up or inspection. These places are usually backed up at least 3 days because of the amount of old people / parents who take there cars there for routine things like oil changes/ tire rotation. So i would drop my car off to get an exhaust made and 1 week - 3 weeks later it would be good as new when it would cost me about 400 with the work and getting it put on not including a n1 tip which i am in love with as to 700 when i get all and i put it on my self and it just looks better and is less hassle for me.. Although if i could get Matt to make me one i would rather do that and order a n1 tip.

Did you consider any of the vendors or just apexi?
Just pondering but if you know someone that can do good exhaust work just get someone to do one and pickout the muffler you want, 200-300 cheaper and the same product.
