The price of converting a N/T to a Turbo

I have recieved some great help on here on what to do for converting a 1g N/T to a turbo. The guy that has all the stuff is not sure how much to charge me and told me to come up with a fair price and offer it to him. I was given this link by 95blackGsTurbo (http://dsmtuners.com/forums/showthre...highlight=swap) tells you exactly how to do it. I have tried looking around online for these parts and all the stuff that he has listed on there that I need. The guy that I am getting the parts from is a ASE mechanic has 4 DSM's and can work on them easily but he has never done any work for other people like this. If anyone can help me come up with a fair price or some kind of help it will be greatly appreciated. The donor car is a 91 AWD turbo talon with 93000 miles on it that he has kept but is willing to sell off the other stuff but the motor is ruined not sure why but he said it is done.

yeah yeah I know it sounds weird but I have known him for a couple years now and I trust him and his work. I see where you are coming from, I said do it for free but that didn't work and he said come up with a price and would let me know if it would work for him.

i would say, based on what ive seen happen, the price ## gunna spend on doin so, you mine as well sell ## car now and take that money and invest into something turbo AWD.

Unless he's set on it and really wants to do it (if his friend knows what he's doing). It is possible and w/ a donor car it's that much easier. Anyway's if the work is good, you have your heart set on doing it, it's up to you really.

ok, so how much would I ask for a 92 N/T 5 speed with minor bolt ons and 101000, body and paint are in great shape. I went to KBB and it said $1475 and that seems awful low to me but I am new to this after all.

I love my little car and have done alot of body work and small stuff to it that I just don't wanna part with. You folks know how hard it si to part with something you have worked hard on.

I know I am posting alot of messages on here but I am really relying on the more experianced DSM tuners here to help me out. How much will a used turbo, intercooler, piping, ecu, appropriate sensors run a person. All I have found are prices for brand new stuff, thanks once again you guys are a great help.

Kyle, he has a 1G dsm. Which means he has a 4G63, therefore he doesn't need to turbo a 420a. IMO I say go for it. If you like your car and don't want to sell it then go ahead a proceed with the process. It has been done before and there are threads on here, try to search and see how difficult it was for them. WTF Whoops. I must have mis-read and just assumed he had a 2g. Thanks for pointin' it out.

If you can turbo a 420a for under $1000, then you can definitely turbo the 4G63 MUCH cheaper. The guy from the thread did his in like $7XX. So that's something to think about when tossin' a price at your guy.

If he is going to supply all the parts and do all the work I would say minimum $1500 would be a fair price.
I went to a local perfromance shop and the guy wanted $1800 just to do the work, not including parts. I'm doing a turbo install on a 4G64 thou, but the process is basically the same.
