im still actually looking for more cars..and see how it goes..
yea,is convertible recommended actually? or issit gonna give more problems?

I bought my 95 Talon TSI FWD for $3000 cash with 103K miles, new belts, all dealer serivce records since the car was new, and the car always ran synthetic oil, driven by an older guy from a rich neighborhood. I now have 114K miles on it with no problems. What do u guys think did i find a good deal

:talon: Brian :talon:

i had a spyder, didnt ahev a prob with it at all. but those prices are a few thousand too high

I would definatly say those are too high. I bought my 95 tsi awd for 600 with 130k on it but it also had a 20g, full exhaust, guages, cold air, lowered, and adjustable struts. And i feel like i got shafted cause it crankwalked on me like 6 months later. All i can say is U definatly have to check the crank for play before u buy it!!!!!

THIS GUY IS IN CALI!you cant expect prices to be same as illinois
the prices do seem a little high tho. even for city prices. pro "dropped"?? yeah right. i bet thats a bunch of bull. make sure you get a carfax b4 you buy ANY car.try to trick the seller into telling you how they drive it. (so you can figure out if they beat on it) you will find manygood tips on buying a used dsm on this board so just search.good luck. peace

First off you need to ask yourself one thing before you even buy one or decide on which one you want.

What do you want out of a dsm?

found another car, gonna look at it today! 95' GST bone stock,104,000miles for $5500, well, lets see... ;)

and another noob will make the wrong decision...

You still havent replied to my question.

ahh.well, the car is sold.was one night too late.what i want out of a dsm?first of all,its a nice car and jus thought of choosing a dsm to actually work on..y?

If you want a fast 1/4 mile car, then a GSX would get you faster times for less money, but would also probably break more, depending on how it's driven. The GS-T would probably do better from a roll if you ever do that, since it's lighter. So its a trade off.

No what I meant was do you want out of it. Like do you want it to be really fast? lots of hp? show car? Because modding a GST or a GSX will produce different results.

6 bolt swap. 1st gen rods, 95 pistons(20 over), 4g63 crank, clevite main and rod bearings, balance shaft eliminated, arp hardware (head and rod bolts), and head has 50k miles on it. Transmission has 70K on it and shifts perfectly. Tansmission mods are: Act clutch, lightened flywheel and b&m short shifter.( royal purple syncromax fluid used.) Bolt on modifications are: 20g turbo with 5k miles on it. ported manifold, ported o2 housing. HKS wastegate, turbo back apex N1 exaust with buschur racing off road pipe. injen intake, 2 1/2 inch intercooler piping with trust front mount intercooler. HKS blow off valve. Fuel manegement modifications are: 550 injectors, walbro fuel pump, apex SAFC

how much do u think this car is worth? its a 95 red gsx with a decent body, no major flaws, gray leather, sunroof, 5 speed

Look up KBB for it, add the cost of all the mods if you would do them themselves, then lower the price by maybe $1-2k and you got a good deal.

i would say a good price for that car would be around the area of 10,000$ (9-12thousand is also reasonable)
probably about 5 or more for the car and 5 or so for the parts. :thumb:

Really, the answer is "whatever you'll pay for it".

It'd be worth a lot less to me, as I'd not buy a car someone else had modified. People don't do mods because they want better mileage from driving gently. But that's just me.

I doubt he could really get more than $9K for it, and that'd take a hard-core customer. It loses value in the market from being a Talon (which just shows how stupid and blind the buying world is).

i bought it for $8,250. it idles high and bogs at low rpms when driving....could this be something with the CAS and timing or just tuning?

Yes me too: It is worth whatever you are willing to pay, and if you want someone Else's ridden hard out away wet baby, that is up to you.

It realy all depends on demand for your car, which is pretty high. Some kid with a lot of money,or even one that just wants a '' Fast & the Furious '' car would grab at fairly high prices. Sometimes it may take one ride to pull someone in, if your willing to go that far.

Example: I posted my add in Autotrader for about $30 and it appears in the magazine and their websight until it sells. There are so many people that shop on the web. I managad to sell my 1995 Mitsu. Eclipse RS with 120,000 miles on it that had intake, headers, and exhaust performance wise. Exterior had a Blitz bodykit with a front bumper that has been broke and put back together I don't know how many times, primer grey body with the side skirts eaten away under the door where they were molded, left headlight cracked to hell from hitting a grand cherokee in which only the brights would give any light from it, pushcart spoiler, and a set of rims in which only three were on at the time due to a flat before the sale. It needed a new radiator, motor mountsand rear suspension arm bushings ( when you hit the brakes you heard the loudest, most rapid knocking sound it was embarassing).

I had like 5 calls within the first 10 days and I sold it for my full asking price of $4,700!
If I could get that for that thing then you can bet you could get AT LEAST what you think's fair. (for some odd and really strange reason I still kinda miss that car.)

Like I said before, It's all demand on a really cool '' Fast & the Furious car, '' Sorry, I hate that term.

Im in the process of buying a gsx right now from this dealership. The car is mint inside and out but what scares me is the 123k miles the car has. Ive heard nightmares about crankwalk and Im afraid that if I buy this it might have it. The dealer wants about 10k for it but I think thats real high for the mileage it has. What do you think I should do and how much is the car actually worth. He said a salesman owned the car and there all so called "highway" miles. Any advice would be great.

Well I kno down here in my area, I got about 12people that will jump on that right away. The GSX is the rarest thing around here. CW is rare, just be good to it and itll be good to you. 123m is alot for just being a 99, my car is a 97 and only has 105
