do you have another car? youre profile says 92 tsi awd im assuming since you said you didnt know 1gs thats the car youre referring to...
I personally would love to find a cheap 92 6/4 bolt combo to go along with mine, and have it strictly to race with ... But unfortunately there is no space for it at my house, and I'm sure it will eat all of my money quickly, but the dream will live on.
I say go for it.

Well I actually Sold the 95 GS for $6800 last year(kid wasn't the brigthest-he was a ricer) and I changed my profile car to the 92 TSI because i am pretty sure I am going to pick it up. I just need to get my shit together and update my profile and pics. My everyday driver is an 03 Eclipse GS which is great to get me from point A to point B and not have to worry about it breaking down.

Same as any other car: whatever you can get a customer to pay you. You could check the Edmunds or Kelly Blue Book sites, but they are rough guidelines at best. Especially with DSMs.

Hey guys, I'm testing here to see what you guys would pay for my car. Let me explain. The car does nothing for me, I dont like the way it looks, I dont like the way it drives, I dont like the quality...I've been looking at early 90's TT 300zx's. I don't think I'll ever mod my car, and I doubt I would mod the 300zx. I need a reliable daily driver. Not that the DSM isnt reliable, it just doesnt have the appeal the zx does. I've checked out edmunds and kelly blue book, but thats for these cars in general. If I sold it, it would be to a fellow member to guarntee it has a good home.

The car has 50,650 original miles
1991 GS Turbo
Every option besides leather
Interior is absolutely mint, no joke it still has a factory smell to it every now and then
No mods what so ever, besides the K and N filter
Never seen a track, or hard driving
Second owner, It was given to me from my dad, who bought it new. He never drove it hard, only to work and back 5 days a week
No dings, no scratches, no rust
perfect paint
Everything works 200%

This is a rare car which could have alot of potential. Like I said, I just want to see how much I could get for it

if it was AWD id come up there and give you 4K right now, but for FWD id say 3K

Yeah 3000 is even pushing it for a FWD turbo...

I'd say to be fair 2500-3500 because of the low miles... but myself I would not pay over 2500 because awd is a major option...


Keep it for another few years when DSM's are starting to get depleted more and more and you will find someone paying 5000+ to get there hands on a mint 1g... I vote keep it....

heh thats funny... i got a friend with a 12sec talon FWD that he was selling for 6K.... i was like ummm yeah.... even with 5k in mods.... as far as im concerned if you do the mods you've lost the $$$

Alright well I found out that the car had sold a few hours ago . But I got an e-mail from a guy out in New York about a 92 AWD TSI. I'll post everything he sent me, bare with me it's a little long. How much would you guys pay for this car. Its that awful teal/green color, has a new white fender and bumper, plus i have to buy a $200 ticket to fly to New York and pick the car up and drive it home. Car looks to be in good shape. He said it has about 120k miles on it. I really appreciate it guys.

new paint, recent "Valve Job" as the place selling it said, no oil in the exhaust, idles well, oil pressure seems low at idle, pulls real hard, decent tires, ad said new timing belt but guy i talked to said he doesn't know about that.

However the power windows dont work, and neitehr does the radio (radio was working but went out when i opened the glove box, it turns on and the hud shows information but the volume knob doesn't work ).

They wanted $3,300. They said $2500 was too low but i said if they fixed the radio and the power mirrors I would pay $3000, yeah I know I suck at bargaining but whatever.

Is this a good deal for a low mileage, automatic fwd?

seems a little much to me, especially for fwd and auto. but if you don't mind driving auto and everything seems good, go for it. although i'd give them 2500 and wire in your own stereo and get the windows to work (or an a dsm'er for some help)

I offered $2500 and they wouldn't take it, so i said $3,000 if the power mirrors (not windows my bad) and stereo would work fine. If everything checks out I'm going to try to show up and say I could only get $2800. I dont mind the auto for now and I would keep it stock, i just love how clean it is. The interior is leather and perfect. I just dont want it to go breaking on me.......but thats just inevitable

if the place selling it, is some kind of auto place or does auto work, see if they'll cut you a deal if you have to bring it back for any reason.. wouldn't hurt?

Yeah thats actually a good idea actually. They claim they buy the cars from private owners and clean them up and sell them. So hopefully i'll be in the club of guys with clean 1g's soon. Although it's auto and fwd but i dont want a race car just yet. I just want the best thing for $3,000 and I hope I found it.

maybe in a year I could convert it to 5 speed if I do get it.

glad i could help you out.. most of these guys would pass on it because it's fwd and it's an auto. i say no matter what, it's still a dsm that still has the potential to be faster.
