True LOL. I gotta stop thinking about this car, im not gonna get any sleep

Well if this guy buys my car, I will be getting this car as soon as my car is sold. And the guy told me that because its a copper headgasket, it had to be o-ringed. This guy is like the headgasket master around here LOL.

Okay thanks for the opinions again . I am going to look at the car very thoroughly and make sure it is in good shape in every aspect before i buy it. You guys are saying that the price is high but it is pretty low for where I am. I am in central California and they run from 7 to 9 thousand with 100k on them. I think a lot of the miles are highway miles too by the way.

If this one doesn't work out for you, just be patient the right one will turn up for you. I found mine in San Rafael for about 6k and 90,000 miles it is in excellent condition.

Well I got my second gen tsi awd with 110000 for about 3000 so honestly idk about this one, it sounds clean and good but make sure it doesn't have any problems my friend bought a gst and he had the worst problems about a month after so Just make sure and have it checked really well by a certified mitsu or dsm tech not just your brother in law or best friend that thinks he knows everything about all cars.

Make sure you deal with him though. Start at 5K. Be firm with your price. I've bought over 15 cars and I still have yet to lose money on these buys because of what kind of deals I find. I just bought my 97 tsi awd with 136k for $2870. Need a new turbo, and a couple of other little things but overall I think I got an awesome deal, that, if I wanted to, I could easily turn into 5k if I had the time and put about 1k into it... Good luck with the buy man, hope it turns out good for you!!

in my opinion the 5800 is pretty high for a 98 with that many miles. I recently picked up a tsi awd talon 110,000 miles, no mods, old man driver, and the only flaw was a ripped driver seat for 4000. I suggest you look around and buy a different car and try to get one the hasn't been modded. FYI i searched for literally TWO years to find the perfect car for me.

Wow after almost 3yrs im looking at buying another dsm
i miss my old 95 very much and have been eyeballing a few of them
The one im looking at is here
FS: 95 awd talon- new gone. - XceedSpeed
I got so much great info here on my last dsm I really trust you guys
let me know if you think its worth it!
I know it needs some tlc but seems like a decent deal??
Im looking at trading a 2000 gsxr 600 straight up for it
thanks again!
its good to be back!

I think you could find a running one for about that price. It would probably be bone stock but then you get to do the things yourself.

If you buy that car you need to know that:

1. It needs work

2. You could be into a lot of money if there is in fact some big reasons why it won't run/stay running. Never under estimate the cost to fix a DSM.

3. It will need your time to get it into shape.

i would never buy a car that doesnt run, unless you are planning on a huge project. I bought one that needed work and a year later, done, but then i sold it. I would keep looking man,

I would agree with DSMme44 i bought a DSM with similar problems, it was not worth it:notgood:. I spent more money fixing it then i planned on putting into moding it. I would suggest keep looking.

True and yes i understand its gonna take some time and work but it wont be a DD just a project.
Plus im trading him for a 2000 gsxr 600 thats scratched up with almost 13k on it
but it seems like almost all the kinks are worked out motorwise at least
thoughts??

ive been in your shoes almost exactly 2 years ago. I went ahead and pulled the plug and bought a non running gsx for 1k, was told it had electrical problems... fix the electrical problems and find out that piston #1 and #4 have ringlands cracked and no compression. If i could go back in time i would NOT do it again and buy a car where i could adequately test it beforehand! but i was young and stupid, dont be me. Also theres no way for you to even do a compression test on the car without the starter, pass for a better deal
