Guys I got my gst from an original owner, less than 100k miles, California car, and in perfect condition for $1500. Well maybe not perfect, the antenna mast was broken $60 or less repair. He can definately be talked down. Maybe one day I'll post some pics.

that's a 92-94 because of the composite headlights unless he went with a newer front clip and it is really not bad
also it needs a new front bumper cover and looks like a drivers corner light ?

he mentioned on there it had a front end conversion;)... now that I think about it 2 grand does sound a little high, but will agree with you its worth around 1000 to 1500.

...and in perfect condition for $1500
(..one of the lucky ones on here that found somebody who didn't know the value of their car - to be able to tag a '97 that cheap....)

it had a front end conversion
Also, with that front end conversion, makes one wonder if that owner is 'hiding' something under that new metal - like some serious damage in a front ender accident and found it easier to 'hide' it with a different nose, fenders and such.....for you can see the body moulding no matching at the join between the front of the door and the rear of the fender. - let alone a quick paint job to hide all of this - you can see the color shift from fender to hood.

Plymouths didn't have a full black top like that - they painted the "C" pillar the same as the body paint and the top was black.

Wonder if he changed out the tailights as well to complete the mask job. Owner was definitely trying to disguise this into as a Talon...to make it more valuable.

My bro just bought a 92 talon 4g63 for $600, missing a radio, battery, and front door speakers. It has 118k on the odometer and runs fine, yes we put a battery in it before we drove it. I said that to say this, the guy wanted $1200. When people have things (cars) for sale they always blow up the asking price in hopes of you talking them down in order to get a "good deal". It's just buisness. If you want it buy it, heck I'd go pick it up if I wasn't married.

Also anyone that is looking for a turbo car knows what it is, what they want, and what it's worth. Offer $1200 and see how the deal goes. I'd give him $1200.

I payed 1500 for mine and it was way worse than that one i would try 1100 or 1200. that would be a good deal. good luck man

Thanks for all the feedback guys!..Well hit did the sycro test and when he was at idle and pushed it in to 1st it grinded...so is that syncros or clutch...this guy is prob not gonna budge on the 2,000 so i don't know....I might go check it out and tell him I have 1500 cash if he wants....I don't wanna replace that trans right away...keep it coming guys !

Ground in 1st .. them syncros are toast - tranny replacement/overhaul. Period.

I bet, if you waved that 1500 bucks in 100 dollar bills in his face, he'd be a total fool to refuse that amount of money.

He's probably the dumbass card player sitting at a blackjack table with a pair of "10's" and the idiot would split them - dumbshit already has a winning hand and then turns it down for a better winning hand that he'll never get.

So I found a 96 GSX. the car is cleaner than shit on a diarreha day. its a black 5spd. Im going to look at it tomorrow.
the only problem is it has 202k on the body.
what you guys think? is that too many miles on the body to waste 2200 bucks on??
I have a 6 bolt motor with a fresh rebuild that I would swap in there.

Just check the car very carefully for rust, and peek underneath the car to see how the undercarriage looks. If everything checks out, then you have nothing to worry about. The only time I would worry, is if the car looked like complete crap, and had rust everywhere.

ok, the outside of the car is in perfect condition.
the car came from cali so the dude drove alot of highway miles on it.
Ill be checking her out tomorrow afternoon so Ill be sure to bring a flashlight and look under her really good.

What do you guys think of this. He is asking 6500 which I can not do, but want to try and be fair about it.

So what do you guys think it would be worth? Do you think it is going to be a quick talon or still need quite a bit of work to get it in the 12's?

thanks

wow what a bust man.
I went to look at the car and its a complete piece of junk
the outside is rust free but man I poked my head underneath the car and RUST all over.
it really pissed me off because I drove down a half hour and the kid told me it didnt have any rust.
it even had rust under the hood. and he said it didnt.

then he tried to hide the fact that the rear hatch wouldnt stay up on its own. so I messed with him and talked to him for awhile while he held it up with one arm..... then he finally just shut it,.
LOL
it was kind of funny, his dad even got involved, saying how good the car was, and right there i knew they just wanted it off there property. LOL

I'm thinking about buying this car. Seems like a good deal to me, just wanted to see what other people think.

I have had this car sitting in my garage for a few years and put it back together a few months back.

Has a very safe 21psi tune and it roasts the new winter tires that are on it.

I would like to get $4000 obo

NOW $3300

A couple weeks ago I asked him how low can he go on the price and other misc questions
The interior is just dirty.... A good carpet cleaner will go a long way. As it sits right now will all the mods (and all the spare parts I have) I will let it go for 3700. If I keep the PLX wideband and PLX Boost (ill put a stewert warner boost in it) Ill take 3500. I daily drive the car to work everyday and it runs fine. It was built as a track car originally so the stiff motor mounts and built trans makes the shifts feel hard. The alternator for somem reason under charges at idle but if you rev the car to 2800 for a sec. it does to 14v and stays there. Engine has about 7000 miles on it, Trans has less then 500 (yes five hundred), chassis has 109,000, turbo kit has 500, exhaust injectors fuel pump water pump and all engine gaskets have under 400 as they were replaced 4 weeks ago. Has brand new Hankook winter bear tires that drove great in yesterdays snow.
Has well over $8000 in mods alone. Let me know and we can setup a time to take a look and drive her.

Sounds like a good deal but if it's that built up i wouldn't even bother. God knows the big headaches that will come upon after you buy it and give it street use, not track use as mentioned by the seller.

i posted this on another site also and just about everyone told me the same thing as u dsmj89. i did a poll too and 11 out of 13 people said not to buy it. ill take everyones advice and pass on the deal.

I would do it if everything else is there. Ask yourself do you want another project car an can you let it sit if you cant afford it right now.
