Im about to go test drive this...95 mitsubishi eclipse GS-T obo . He claims its in perfect condition. Hes got receipts and warratny for 1 year on the new engine and clutch. Engine has 30k miles on it. Body has 94k. Hes throwing in a Garrett 60 m24 and wastegate, downpipe, and manifold that goes with it. Full 3" exhaust. Runs perfect, only thing wrong with it is the power locks do not work, but he thinks its just a fuse. thoguhts?

So, whats the recirculation tube recirculating? electrical problems can always be fixed. You use the key to open the door plus you only have two doors, whats the problem?

CARFAX is very important.

I would for that price. If it runs and drives good and is strong a wot then go for it and it looks like a good find.

^^^^^^^

You have to warn people before you post something like that. I feel like somebody just tub-girled me.

Haha im so sorry. Been talking to the owner of the Black GS-t some more. he says its running at 10 PSI with no Boost Controller. Anything particular i should look for in the car when i test drive it, besides compression test?

Also he claims the AC doesnt work and just needs a hardline... AC is a must for me(spoiled). Does this pose a threat to me? Is there a way to see if it works without the "hardline"?

Looks like a scam, I see a lot of that around the Bay Area. Get in contact with him, but chances are his response will be something to the effect of "It's at a family members house, I'm out of state/country, but I know someone in shipping, give me the money and It'll be shipped to your door" etc etc.

Of course, if they want to meet in person... Go check it out.

The black GS-T doesn't look bad but, I noticed it is venting to the atmosphere and I didn't see a MAF-T. Like afroclipse said, the recirc tube is going to who knows where which would worry me. Just my .02 :talon:

On the A/C, I don't use it, and took it out as soon as I could so I'd be no help on that.

The recirc tube should be going to the blow-off valve. If you look at the picture of the engine bay, the blow-off has that horn looking thing on it. Well, that is where the recirc tube is supposed to go. :talon:

Can i just unscrew that horn and put in the tube? What if the car runs and drives fine? he says he has no MBC on it and that its running at 10PSI

That seems like a good deal, find out who rebuilt the engine. Make sure that 14G turbo is a 14b, I think the 14G is off of a starion or conquest, theres nothing like buying a modded car off of somebody who doesnt know what they are talking about.

As for that orange eclipse, thanks, I threw up all over my keyboard and now its gonna be a bi*** to clean it out.

14b will say TDO5h on it and have all the fins in the same plane.

16g will say TDO5h and have staggered fins.

The 13g will say TDO4 and have staggered fins. I don't know how you'd know if it was a 14g, looks like the 14g does not have a flanged compressor outlet, so that might tip you off.

You will need a recirculated fitting for that bov. Just unscrew the horn and screw in the fitting then run it to the intake tube.

Here is the deal, I found this add
1994..............AWD Eagle Talon tsi Turbo....Trade for Eclipse

I e-mailed the guy sent him pictures of my car with a list of mods, he seems interested, I've only had 420a's and don't know a lot about 4g63's. So before I go and look at this car, can y'all help me with some tips on what I should look for?..
I must have a reliable car, otherwise I won't be able to get to work.
The seller said that it runs strong and first gear sticks a little bit, and it has 140000 miles. I have done a lot to my 420a (no turbo) but I am attached to the car (regardless). But deep down I know I want that turbo, AWD.
Some one please give me some advice!!! I asked my dad he said " no you shouldn't trade your car you've done so much to it!" But he doesn't understand.
The seller says he just likes the 2g body style and doesn't care about the "speed". Does that sound fishy?... any advice I will appreciate guys......

the whole thing sounds sketchy to me LOL if u ask me i would stick with what u got. for one the first gens are older the older the car the more likely ## to run into problems. when i bought my 1g talon tsi it ran real strong and i thought i was getting a great deal. so i sold my reliable civic and got the talon. he was right ran real strong. afer the first month the thing took a shit on me. LOL dont get me wrong i love my tsi :) but i wish i would have been able to keep my civic for a dependable daily. you kno? but u gotta do whats right for you in the end.

Yeah if your looking for real dependability your 420 is more dependable then a tsi .Normal maintenance will prevent most problems. But more parts, more problems and more things could go wrong. You just gotta understand why most people have the dd then there tsi/gsx/gst what ever. Not a car to really be fully depended on without having a back up.

but, we cant see what your car looks like, but the awd does look stock under the hood. me personally, id rather buy a fully stock cat that old than buying a someone elses modded headache.
the awd dosent seem fishy. i did the same thing a couple of years ago, now im back with a 1g awd LOL
