oh I was just worried because the price seems low? I guess you guys think that price is good?

oh I was just worried because the price seems low? I guess that's the normal price for these cars? I'm not really sure what to look for can you guys help? I seen an eagle talon today at work it was a AWD TSI near a tanning place, a wicked hot chick walked in it I was like what the #### it looked all stock besides I saw a turbo boost gauge she started it up and it was squueling so bad like it needed a new belt or something and she was just driving it like normal I take it she doesn't keep up on the maintenance haha

get all the info and we can tell you if the price is fair. $3800 doesn't seem like a bad price, but you haven't even seen the car. Check out the classifieds on this site. There are plenty of better deals.

It's a rare talon, get it.

I'm not looking for something just rare, I'm looking for something reliable also, if I keep up on the maintenance anyways, fun fast and good looking. How is the TSI model to the TSI AWD model, and there is just a plain old stock eagle talon non TSI correct? like will the FWD model do okay in snow so I'll be able to drive around in the winter.

I'm already under the section classifieds

FWD dsm is probably not the best snow machine, especially on the fast spooling stock turbo. believe me, i speak from personal experience...

I dont really like ads where there is only one pic of the car posted. It makes me think there is something behind it, but for 3800 bucks is not bad. Just expect really high milage and a bone stock engine.

The price isn't bad but, you have to literally do an inspection, a thorough inspection because DSMS aren't worth what people price them at. Meaning they know people will pay a lot for the car they know is in demand so therefore if the cars at a descent price, make sure you know what you're buying.

Rust, rust, rust. Make sure there isn't any rust on that car. I bought one in Carmel and drove it for a few years, I just took it to the junkyard since it was so rusty that nobody wanted it. These are old/beater cars that people will drive in any weather, especially snow. Some of these have spent their lives near the ocean water and are just rusted to shit. Mine was. You couldn't even jack it up without the subframe pushing in.

well he did say it had mods, garret turbo, short shifter, cold air intake, 27"x14" fm intercooler w\ 3inch pipe, motor & trans. mounts

go look at it and get back to us. find out mileage and how the body and int. look. depending on how much power your looking to get the TSi will be fine for you over the AWD. spinning tires does suck though :|

If you don't know too much about DSMs then it's probably not the best idea to buy a turbo model. Since you don't seem too interested in racing it doesn't seem like a bad idea to look for a non turbo model. The non turbo will be cheaper, easier to find, and easier to work on/more reliable. The only downturn in your situation is that non turbo models are only FWD and getting up a snowy hill in one of those is a pain.

Nah I'm interested in the quick street runs, so I'd like a turboed model for sure actually TSI AWD if I could.

Eagle talons are sooo much cheaper. I guess the Mitsu name brings the buck up. However i'm unsure If you care what the car looks like the 90-94 models are even cheaper and have a turbo awd model. The 95-99 models are a whole lot sexier IMHO. But it's hard to find an awd model.

Needless to say if that was my talon with those mods it wouldn't be that cheap...no way in hell. Unless it was on it's last leg ;-)

that's what I was getting at.. doesn't that price seem a bit low? for a car that nice? I don't care whether it's a Eclipse GSX or a Eagle Talon they're both the same engine I want a 1995-1998 though 2gen do these cars run fast stock? like will they beat a Honda Prelude? Obviously with a little mods they fly

I'd buy one, it's just so hard to find any right now in Waterboro, I don't see any TSI AWD around... :( besides one that is 3 grand and it has been all pulled apart and is not running atm

and what's the millage on these cars usually like how long do they run for strong? being taken care of I'm saying, or 170-180k ?

Every DSM is so much different from the next one, it depends on the abuse and the upkeep of the previous owners. Let the seller drive you in it before you test drive it, see how he/she reacts too after you talk him/her up about it being fast. If they get on it you'll have a taste of what that car has been through. Never realized that until I had bought two of them.

PS: It's not a Honda, DSMs don't last forever:(

I just wanna know why you asked if it would be fast since its not all wheel drive, they are the exact same car only one has more traction off the get go thats it. Line them up sisde by side and do a race from a roll like 3rd or so and they be neck and neck if the fwd doesnt spin the the tires. myn rst will take down alot of 4g63 with the small turbo cause i have a 61 trim and it doesnt spool till like 3200 hense i have plenty of traction off the line and pure power without the spinning crap

yes, but if they say it has 130K on it, I'm going to say that sounds good if it wasn't abused, I want to know roughly what a car like this will run to if it's treated good and kept up on its maintenance. 170k 180 k?

Even if it has been abused with some TLC you can for sure get things turned around, may have to replace a few things, but you can do it for quite cheap usually. My FWD had around 160K when I got it, but I didn't want to chance anything, so...REBUILD!

Well the thing about it is that not only DSM but every "gasoline" car once it hits over 100k miles it will act up, so you gona have to do some work to it to keep it running right. If the car has 130k, and it has been upgraded most likely the previous owner did launch it more than a couple of times, so in other words have some money on the side to do a rebuild. Not neccesseraly forged everything but you can make it to stock specs again for very cheap and then you can put 300hp-400hp without a problem. So make sure you have some money on the side thats all. Plus we are all assuming at this point so better off go and CHECK IT out yourself.

and how much is it to rebuild one of these Talon's or GSX motors? BTW you got a wicked sweet looking car.

Ok I am able to get a 90 GSX for $500. No rust and all it needs is a new battery and a ?valve job? so says the owner. He hasnt started it up in a while and doesnt remember seeing smoke coming out of the exhaust. At the same time he thinks it has a 6 cylinder motor in it. I think this guy doesnt know what he is talking about because he "just knows" it needs valve job. Should i get this?
